I'm wondering what happened with the 2K restoration of the 68 film Fox was working on a few years ago. It seems a missed opportunity.

In 2011, when Rise of the Planet of the Apes came out, the Film Forum ran what was billed as being a 35mm print of a brand new restoration -- so assuming it's the same thing, it at least has been out there in some form.Bryan^H said:

Not sure.
I was guessing a simple re-issue to coincide with the theatrical release.
However, at the same time, if a new transfer has been struck what a better
time to release it.
