I am planning on getting a Mini to use as a music server with audio out to my stereo through the optical out jack and using the app "Remote" to control the Mini. My question is that I can buy a older Mini (Intel Core Duo 1.66GHz, Wifi, B-Tooth,1024 Ram) for $150 which I know can't be updated with anything higher than Snow Leopard. Are the newer updates of Itunes combatible with Snow Leopard? If so, do I need to worry that it won't be in the near future? I was assuming that the "remote" app can be used with this model of Mini and Itunes, is that a correct assumption? Any other suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

That is a VERY old computer. I would say it's not worth buying at any price. You'll be locked into such an old version of iTunes that it most likely won't even work with Remote.
