Rocket Robin Hood (1 Viewer)

I have the complete series of Rocket Robin Hood on dvd (ex safari episode) as such I decided to watch the series again. I found the series very good, especially since it has been years that I watched it!

Hollywood has tried many times with making movies on Robin Hood with limited success. I am wondering if Hollywood has considered taking a different approach to Robin Hood based on Rocket Robin Hood. It would be neat to see a modern day/space outlaw called Robin Hood!

Very cool show. I guess it was put out by the same people who did the 1960's Adventures of Spider-Man. This was the decade for cool action/adventure shows.

I have unique taste in shows. It is that reason that I usually just watch dvd. My TV time is a way for me to wrap up the day. I have decided in 2014 to pick a TV show and watch a season each week. Some times it takes me about two weeks to complete season of a show as I only watched about 2 hrs of TV any given night. I reduced that time from April to November as I am usually outside doing things!!

There is another interesting show and it is called Hercules. Both Rocket Robin Hood and Hercules used to be shown on tv every weekday morning when I was a kid. I used to watch both shows while I was eating my breakfast and getting ready for school!

Lunch time was also interesting as the Flintstones used to be shown!!

I have both volumes of Rocket Robin Hood from Canada. I grew up with the show back in the early 70's as part of the local afternoon programming for kids here in Louisville. It's wonderfully eclectic style was fun for me as a kid because it was so different from the standard format of anything I saw back then (except for Spider-man).It was a great moment when the show finally came ot market a few years ago. I'm still unclear as why episode 6 was not available since there is such a clean copy of it on Youtube. It would be nice if someone could lend some insight as to why that was omitted from the volume one box set. Great series though.

It is too bad the studio could not have found away to get a copy of Safari as it is missing from the set. Yes, you can see Safari via Youtube, but it is not same as owning the set.

I am not sure most of us remember the original airing or the years of syndication for some of these shows. But it doesn't matter. I like shows from most decades but I feel the 1960's was the pinnacle of television. It excelled in every genre including cartoons. You had the Japanese classics and Hanna Barbara's huge catalog. Then there were various cartoons from other sources like Rocket Robin Hood, Adventures of Spider-Man, The Beatles Cartoon, Hercules, Milton the Monster, etc. I can't speak for girls but as a boy I was in Heaven with this programming.

Here in the Philadelphia area we had a show called Wee Willie Weber's Cartoon Club. It was a combination of live host, gallery of children (the peanut gallery), and cartoons. This was on when we came home from school until later in the evening. By today's standards I guess people would find that format dated maybe even cheesy. But it was common in the 50's and 60's. I remember racing home to watch dark Shadows and then on to cartoons. I have an enormous collection of these shows and my wife and kids wonder how I had time to play outside if I watched all these shows. I know I did but for the life of me, I'm not sure how I managed both.

I started collecting these shows when I started having kids. They like a certain amount of them. I will never forget my baby girl sitting in front of the TV set singing the theme song to Marine Boy. I thought what other kid even knows this obscure theme song? I wiped the tear from eye and knew I did something right as a parent.

My grandson is almost three now, and I started showing him episodes of Rocket Robinhood back when he was just turning two. He LOVES the show. And we have created this little ritual each time the opening tune comes on (both of them I guess). He has me get up and we march around the coffee table as the song plays. At the end, he raises his hands and yells " Rocket! Robinhooooooood!" Perhaps through doing this, I have allowed the show to get passed down to another generation. Not bad for a show closing in on 50 years. (; I'm a proud grandpa and I AM 50!

Great title song but a pretty ropey cartoon.

The current rights holder has been sloppy with the library - seems they are missing this episode of RRR (at least in English!) and TWO episodes of "Strange Paradise" which they also own.

Is Rocket Robin Hood like season 2 of Spider Man? I really don't care for what Ralph Bashi did with that.
