1080p25/1080p30 on Blu-ray (1 Viewer)

I believe Blu-ray doesn't support 1080p25/1080p30. Is this still true?

This is correct. Blu-ray only supports 1080p resolution at 24fps. Content originally photographed at 25fps will either need to be slowed down to 24, or authored as 1080i/50Hz. Likewise, content originally photographed at 30fps (or 60Hz) will need to be authored as 1080i/60Hz.

Alternately, they can be down-rezzed to 720p resolution. Blu-ray supports 720p at both 50Hz and 60Hz (as well as 24fps). This is the least desirable option, for obvious reasons.

One additional question (stupid or not): Is the Blu-ray movie on the DISC still encoded at 1080p25 or 1080p30, but the Blu-ray player "converts" it to 1080i/50Hz or 1080i/60Hz? Or is it already 1080i/50Hz or 1080i/60Hz on the DISC?

I mean reading stuff like this can be confusing:

"The Blu-ray release is encoded at 1080p30, which is not supported by the Blu-ray specification.
