That means those are around the same time Audiovox closed up shop on Advent as well. If I remember right, AR was higher up than Advent(although Advent was never "super high end" anyway. They just made good stuff).

So are you saying I should ditch all my AR speakers? I am not opposed to that Ill just have to see what I can get for em so I know what I have to work with on new stuff. I did buy the AR C225ps center on ebay $50 including shipping. So now I have 5 maybe 6 good 216s and the 225.

No I don't mean Chuck them. Those are better than anything "new" under $1200.Those are just not AR from prior to Audiovox.

Put it this way. I'd rather have your AR than Polk TSi. And you spent under $400.

Ok so I should get the 316s. And my entire speaker set except for the sub will be AR from the same era? What would it cost to top this set up?

I would put those up against the JBL. Studio.

Thanks for the help. I ordered the 318s. And to think I almost bought a 7.1 set by onkyo for not quite $400. Bet I would have been disappointed.

So I have done a little research and found that audiovox acquired AR in 2003. All of my speakers were made prior to audiovox. Yay. Does this further your opinion? Thanks again for the help
