Bryan Singer is doing another X-Men movie, X-Men: Apocalypse, to be released in May of 2016.

Little is officially known about the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, which was announced two weeks ago, but thanks to director Bryan Singer we now have an idea of who is behind the scenes for the sequel. Singer tweeted about a "Late night X-Men Apocalypse story session" last night and the photo included not only Singer and X-Men: Days of Future Past screenwriter Simon Kinberg, but also X2: X-Men United screenwriters Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris! This marks the first time since "X2" that Dougherty and Harris have worked on an X-Men film. Though it remains to be seen who will officially pen the screenplay for the sequel, it's certainly exciting to see former franchise writers return to the series.

Brian Singer has cast the young Storm, Jean, and Cyclops.

Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean), and Tye Sheridan (Cyclops) will be playing the classic X-Men in Apocalypse.

I thought Days of Future Past was great, and I'm really looking forward to this next film.

So, they're officially taking the transition step from "First Class sequel" to "Rebooted franchise", since Fox wants their gravy train to keep chugging.

I dunno, always seems like it's at this point the franchise finally does something to end, especially since DoFP seemed like it should have been the big final "reunion" wrapup for old and new casts.

Newcomer Lana Candor has been cast as Jubilation Lee, AKA Jubilee:

Interesting decision making Jubilee a contemporary of the second class of X-Men (Jean Grey, Storm, Cyclops, etc.) when she had always been a student of those X-Men in the first trilogy of movies.

So, apparently with the new timeline they are changing when some characters were born since Angel will be in Apocalypse.

Um … Hugh Jackman. I’ve just crossed his path many times, and I actually at the start of my career got [cast as] a young Wolverine. And then I was like, “No, I have to do ‘The Road.'” So this is really meant to be.

I hope that's true. Jackman has stated that the next Wolverine will be his last time playing the character. If so they should give him some closure (at least for this version of the character) in the X-films as well.

Looks good. First Class and Days of Future Past were both great. Here's hoping that they go 3 for 3 with the these "prequels"
