Matt, I've lost count how many times I've been parked in my car on a summer evening with the roof and windows open waiting for someone to arrive while John Barry's score played on my deck...and almost without fail complete strangers will wander up saying some variation on "That music is soooo beautiful...what is it?" When I tell them it's the Somewhere in Time soundtrack, they're usually gobsmacked, "Really? I must see/rent/buy that!"Matt Hough said:One of the great, beautiful scores. I hope the Blu-ray does it justice.
Same here. The DVD transfer was so bad -- I'm concerned whether universal will do a good job. I'll probably get it regardless, though, as my wife was not happy when I got rid of the DVD.ahollis said:The only thing that scares me is that it is Universal. I be waiting for reviews on this one.
Mackinac Island is one of my favorite vacation spots also. I was there in early October(less busy than the summer months) and the colors were just beautiful. I got a ton of video captured with my Canon Vixia. So glad I brought it along.Scott Merryfield said:Same here. The DVD transfer was so bad -- I'm concerned whether universal will do a good job. The film score is terrific, but there is another reason my wife and I like this movie so much. It was filmed at one of our favorite vacation spots -- Mackinac Island, which is located between Michigan's lower and upper peninsulas.
The swimming pool at the Grand Hotel was used for the Esther Williams film This Time for Keeps.schan1269 said:How many movies have been made on Mackinac?
I am not a huge fan of the movie, but I think that score absolutely made the movie.Matt Hough said:One of the great, beautiful scores. I hope the Blu-ray does it justice.
