So I am looking for something like this (I am guessing it is attached via HDMI?):

Canon viewfinder.jpg

but only seem to find stuff like this:
http://www.amazon.com/MegaGear-Screen-Viewfinder-Digital-Cameras/dp/B00AS9119C

The purpose is to be able to focus while shooting video with a Canon 5D Mark III. I need reading glasses and even with them on, I can't see the Canon LCD well enough from really up close to use it to focus. I need something that comes with a diopter adjustment, just like the Canon's own viewfinder does. The Amazon MegaGear thing linked above does not have an eyesight adjustment, and seems cheesy in any event -- you can't be seriously shooting depending on a magnetic attachment not to come loose.

The one in the picture at least looks solid, but don't know what it's called, where to find it, etc. I suppose I could just go to B&H and ask, but what fun is that when I have HTF?

Thanks, guys!

Edit: OK, found something on B&H: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/736853-REG/Zacuto_Z_FIND_EVF_Z_Finder_EVF.html
Suffering price shock - this one appears to be the cheapest one with any decent reviews.

I have the LCDVF, which I use to do manual focus macro shooting. I actually got it thinking of shooting video with the DSLR, but found it more useful for the other purpose.

It works well and stays put with (rare earth) magnets just fine for my purposes, which does not involve doing run and gun video. The only thing is the lack of a diopter, but they recently released a version with the option to insert diopter lenses (an extra $45):

I have seen some devices like that reviewed in either Popular Photography or Outdoor Photographer. I didn't make a mental note of the brand names or prices, since I rarely use the live view function or shoot video. You may want to scan some back issues, though, if they are available online. I do not keep the magazines after reading them, otherwise I would do a quick scan for you.

I ordered something off Ebay for use with my EOS M's LCD screen, but it was about $16-$20 delivered from China, but it wasn't all that sharp for a magnifying device.

Maybe there's one for the 5DM3 too. There are some for the 5DM2, but not sure if they'd fit the 5DM3 seamlessly.
