Do I need a converter or an adapter? Are not these two signals the same? I called radioshack and was told no they don't have an adapter because the are completely different signals. I'm trying to hook up my old xbox to a PC monitor.

Amazon sells adapters for that for less than $30.Radioshack.com doesn't show one.

Thanks for the response. I have seen those adapters listed, but they all say VGA to composite. I wasn't sure if there was a specific direction the signal goes through the adapter. Again, aren't these signals the same? Isn't the only reason for the adapter because of the different ends on the cable, or are they different signals? Thanks again.

VGA is  480i, yes. But the hz rate on your monitor may not be 60.

I looked up the RCA -> VGA.

Yes, they only work one direction.
