Damn, I just bought the Region B Hatari and El Dorado blu-rays. I'm pretty sure it's probably the same transfers, but without the German writing on the cases. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to Gunfight at the O.K. Corral as it's among my favorite westerns.

Will be purchasing all three for certain, though I have never seen
Hatari or El Doroado.

El Dorado is somewhat of another variation of Rio Bravo. One of my favorite Wayne films from my childhood when I originally viewed it at my local movie theater back in 1966/1967 timeframe. Hatari is not one of my favorite Wayne films, but it has its fans. There are some good moments, but just not enough for me.

I think it's time I became more familiarized with Wayne Westerns.

Have seen a few (The Searchers, Man who shot Liberty Valance, True Grit,
How The West Was Won, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, The Comancheros)

...but so many more I have never seen.

John Wayne is my all-time favorite actor. There are better actors, but there was only one John Wayne.

I love hearing the story told by James Caan on working with Wayne on El Dorado and how Wayne always got him in trouble with Howard Hawks the director. One time, Caan got so pissed off at Wayne that he was getting ready to slug him when Mitchum intervene and stopped him.

Pleased to be able to add El Dorado and Gunfight at the O.K. Corral to my collection. I saw Hatari! at the theater when I was a kid and remembered liking it. Watching the DVD some years ago, I wondered why. I will not be adding it, but I'll bet it will look spectacular.

I saw Gunfight At The OK Corral in HD on the telly a few months ago (UK Film Four) & thought it looked really good. My pick of this lot is El Dorado, the Blu has been out in Europe for a month, but I haven't seen any reviews posted, I have seen some caps & they looked very nice.

There have been complaints about Hatari video-wise on the Region B Blu-ray. I bought it anyway because I like to judge such things for myself. I'm going to try to watch it this week.

I was hoping that Hatari! would of been a solo Paramount release.

In a way, you're to be envied: so many treats in store. I strongly recommend that you watch Rio Bravo at the earliest opportunity.

A fine film, I've always wondered how much better it would have been, if Montgomery Clift had played Dude with Elvis playing Colorado.

By the way, "Chisum" will be released on Blu-ray in France at the beginning of 2014!
