I am a beginner at home theatre set up.
I'm so novice that even the beginner section is advanced. lol
Here is what I have (all old):
1) Kenwood VR-309 receiver
2) Philips CDR-785 CD player
3) Philips DVD player w/ usb port
4) Samsung flatscreen TV (42")
5) JBL speakers (five) w/ subwoofer
I would like to get rid of the CD player and receiver so I can use USB to play music. I saw that receivers now use USB ports.
I do use a laptop to stream Netflix movies through the T.V. and I'm thinking that maybe the laptop could be used as a CD, DVD, music (usb) device.
Couldn't the laptop replace all components except the T.V. and speakers?
What would be your advice on either utilizing existing components or buy new.
I'm not interest in spending thousands of dollars either.
