Thought I'd start a thread for the stuff that has next to no chance of being released in the US on BD. Even some where no chance at all even on DVD.

Start with a couple...

The Devil's Whore
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Devils-Whore-Region-B/dp/B00D646KGA/ref=sr_1_4?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1382848508&sr=1-4&keywords=the+devil%27s+whore (known as Mistress here in the US, that alone makes the Region B worth it)

La Ceremonie
http://www.amazon.co.uk/C%C3%A9r%C3%A9monie-Blu-ray-Isabelle-Huppert/dp/B00820Y1T6/ref=sr_1_10?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1382848854&sr=1-10&keywords=huppert (simply outstanding)

Good choice on MO. I would consider that disc, combined with the domestic Criterion to not be a double dip. Criterion saw fit to include the '35 version. Buy the Crit for the '35 and this for the Blu.

The Baby of Macon played one night in Dallas 20 (?) years ago. Spectacular movie. AFAIK, it never had a domestic distributor. I have no idea how it played theatrically that one night. I'm just glad to have seen it on a big screen.

Today's installment...

The Adjuster
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Adjuster-Blu-ray-Elias-Koteas/dp/B00CG6IUTO/ref=pd_rhf_dp_s_cp_21_YG7W?ie=UTF8&refRID=000Y18C5C17DXH7G8WN1 (Why are all the edgy Atom movies ignored in the US...????)

White of The Eye
http://www.amazon.co.uk/White-Eye-Dual-Format-Blu-ray/dp/B00G5IVA46/ref=pd_rhf_dp_s_cp_3_KWJK?ie=UTF8&refRID=07H4PMSS3CJJ4NYM9BQY (even I'm surprised by this one. Been on PAL DVD since '06. This has no prayer, ever, of getting a US release)

Like Someone in Love (since I put this here...it might finally have made the US...regardless...keeping it here as this one is a must...no matter where you get it)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Like-Someone-Love-Blu-ray-Takanashi/dp/B00DRFGNYC/ref=pd_sim_d_h__14 (absolute crying shame we have no chance here)

Breathe In
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Breathe-Blu-ray-Guy-Pearce/dp/B00DTUF49A/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1383167988&sr=1-2&keywords=breath+in (another "made here" movie that we won't get)

Skipped a day because I was hoping this movie wasn't going to have to be included...

Therese Desqueyroux (not to be confused with any, proper, version of "other" Therese...either)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Therese-Desqueyroux-Blu-ray-Audrey-Tautou/dp/B00CQO9YHI/ref=sr_1_4?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1383327103&sr=1-4&keywords=therese (we in the US get the DVD and unless you know the film...you won't "get" it being Miller...cause the US title is just Therese so it might get confused with the "other" Therese and its lousy American remake)

Populaire
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Populaire-Blu-ray-D%C3%A9borah-Fran%C3%A7ois/dp/B00D954A6I/ref=pd_sim_d_h__1 (yes this is a Region A import from Japan. Buy that one if you can handle the menu. Otherwise...)

Second DVD on the list. Considering all who is involved with it...why is the US market not getting it? Goes well with Lovelace...

Call Girl
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Call-Girl-Ruth-Vega-Fernandez/dp/B00DTUF4G8/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1383501238&sr=1-1&keywords=call+girl

Pillow Book, Yeah yeah...I got a separate thread for this. But I'm watching football today...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pillow-Book-Blu-ray-Ewan-McGregor/dp/B004PG9G7I/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1383502612&sr=1-2&keywords=pillow+book

No necessarily "Region B" exclusives...but definitely not here anyway...

Lady SnowBlood/2
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lady-Snowblood-Limited-SteelBook-Blu-Ray/dp/B007XRX88E/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1383784509&sr=1-2&keywords=kurosawa+blu (maybe here...nevermind...I'll call it. We'll never get this in the US)

Tokyo Sonata (another I think I saw Region A. Don't care...find it, buy it, watch it.)
http://www.amazon.com/Tokyo-Sonata-Blu-ray-DVD-Combo/dp/B0083YLKL8/ref=sr_1_2?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1383784769&sr=1-2&keywords=tokyo+sonata (just sad we don't have this)

RE: The Battle Of The River Plate
Funny, I watched it just yesterday :D

PQ is really good, also the english soundtrack.
The german sound is not so good, the are some out-of-sync parts.

The Battle Of The River Plate '56, it's minor Powell & Pressburger, but very enjoyable & it's a stunning looking Blu-ray. As far as I can see it's only been released in Germany.http://www.amazon.de/Panzerschiff-Graf-Blu-ray-Anthony-Quayle/dp/B003MDHNZW/ref=sr_1_3?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1383839889&sr=1-3&keywords=powell+pressburger
There's a French release, but the subs are fixed. Unfortunately the German release is cut; it's only a relatively small cut, but I couldn't live with it at all.

Not a Region B disc, but a region A which is strangely missing in the USA and other major countries.
Why hasn't it appeared?

This Japanese release is a nightmare to navigate, but is a really good quality disc with an english soundtrack and removable subtitles.

Doug.

Took a few days cause I want to take on newer releases...and had to wait for a few to see what we'd get it. Here are some we aren't...

Mammoth
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mammoth-Mammut-Blu-Ray-Garc%C3%ADa-Bernal/dp/B003TNEZ4W/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1384453160&sr=1-1&keywords=moodysson+blu (how are we not? Are you kidding?)

Late Mizoguchi
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mizoguchi-EDITION-BLU-RAY-Masters-Cinema/dp/B00EZT3KYA/ref=pd_rhf_dp_s_cp_6_ANZK?ie=UTF8&refRID=1JN6RHY3FYGSYEPGYQ5W (ok fine. Does this have a "stupid American" audience...???)

Even the Rain
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Even-Tambi%C3%A9n-lluvia-pluie-Blu-Ray/dp/B006OUZ5LE/ref=pd_sim_sbs_d_h__5 (another breathtaking Gael movie. Possibly his best. And yes...best)

Rabid Dogs
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rabid-Dogs-Kidnapped-Format-Blu-ray/dp/B00EZ6G4R8/ref=pd_rhf_dp_s_cp_10_Z45P?ie=UTF8&refRID=0E5R2E4XXYEXANFMFJMH (yes we already got this. But why is ours a neutered 1 disc affair? Hey Kino...re-releasing it?)
