Call me a slow learner but better late than never. I'm tweaking my settings and using both the THX Optimizer and Avia disks but noticed I kept having trouble getting my TV to look as good as the Blu ray trailers I watch on You-tube and now understand why. I took a look at the video settings on my computer and noticed all the video enhancements like skin and color tones, edge enhancement, DNR and all the other things were set to on even in the cinema mode so I turned them all off and guess what? Looks a lot like my TV now. So I guess when you take off all their fancy clothes makeup and jewelry they're just like everyone else.

Now I really understand all those special effects and can see the difference when turning all those things off before you calibrate your display and how that really does give you that natural look. I buy a lot of anime on Blu ray and have to admit that even with my TV calibrated with all the bells and whistles off the anima REALLY does pop...almost the opposite of everything else not popping so much...at the same time everything does seem to have a richer look with deeper colors...kind of breathes a new life into what I'm watching.

I guess what I wanted to say was if anyone's looking to check out a movie trailer on the internet to see what it looks like...close to calibrated...make sure all the enhancements are turned off on your computers video.
