Never heard of this film, but I love Geoffrey Rush.

If you pick it up, Sam, would you come back and give
it a thumbs up or down? I would buy it if it came
heavily recommended.

A little late to this party and obviously no one followed up - I give it a major recommendation - a terrific movie, beautiful to look at, wonderful Morricone score, and Geoffrey Rush should have been nominated for an Oscar. It's old-fashioned in its style, so that made me happy right off the bat. But it's mesmerizing and hypnotic and I just really kind of loved it. I watched on Netflix, but I now have the Blu-ray on its way to me.

I missed the boat on this...

I ended up ordering the Australian release. There are copies on eBay. Takes a couple weeks to get here, plays Region A.

Yes, A really good film, this one. I saw it on a borrowed DVD about a year ago and immediately set about finding on HD. I was getting close to ordering a bluray version from Europe, when it was released here in Australia - I picked it up for about $10.

Geoffrey Rush is terrific. It has a strange haunting quality to it - hard to descibe.
