Priced at $5,999, the Smart VIERA WT600 (65") is the first 4K TV to offer 60 frames per second input based on the new HDMI 2.0 standard; this represents a significant step up from the 4K 24 FPS and 30 FPS limitations of the HDMI 1.4 standard.

Some press had access to an event where the Panasonic was pitted up against the Sony and Samsung UHD equivalent TV's and it supposedly fared better in terms of image quality and detail.  I guess we will need to get a review unit to find out for ourselves.

The Panasonic also comes with a built in H.264 decoder to make it ready for streaming 4K HD content that should be coming in the future.

At least the Panasonic is staying a flat panel instead of this ridiculousness of a curved screen from Samsung!
