The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

--Amazon, this week, has an EXCLUSIVE RELEASE of the three seasons of Downton Abbey on DVD and Blu-ray:

Amazon Exclusive Bonus Footage:
-Season 4 Exclusive Sneak Peek - 11 minutes of Season 4 clips and cast interviews
-13 minutes of all-new cast interviews
-28 minutes of previously unreleased deleted scenes from Seasons 1, 2 and 3.

--BestBuy.com claims to have an EXCLUSIVE release of the Blu of Dead Before Dawn.  This EXCLUSIVE is NOT listed in the Sunday flyer...but it says so HERE.  It does NOT say what the EXCLUSIVITY entails.

--Best Buy has an EXCLUSIVE The Little Mermaid Lunch Box for sale for $9.99.  If you buy the Lunch Box with a Blu-ray copy of The Little Mermaid you can save $5.

--Best Buy has an EXCLUSIVE BONUS DISC with its copies of This Is the End.  Meet the cast and step inside James Franco's house.

--Best Buy also has an EXCLUSIVE DELUXE 3-D EDITION of The Croods with a Deluxe Toy Pack with a Belt Plush.

--Best Buy has an EXCLUSIVE COLLECTIBLE CASE with its 3-D Blu copies of The Wizard of Oz.  It doesn't say, but it looks to be a steelcase.

--Best Buy Odds and Ends:  None to report.

--Save $6 at Target this week, instantly, by buying BOTH The Little Mermaid on disc AND a sparkling Princess Ariel doll ($10).  Items packaged seperately.  Quantities limited.  No rainchecks.

--Target is also advertising an EXCLUSIVE 32-page storybook with their Blu copies of The Little Mermaid.

--Target also has EXCLUSIVE BONUS CONTENT with their copies of New Girl: Season 2.

--Although they don't mention it in their ad text, their image of The Wizard of Oz 3-D Blu seems to indicate that they've got an EXCLUSIVE lunch bag with their copies.

--And, not content to rest on their laurels, Target has an EXCLUSIVE BOTTLE OPENER(!) with their copies of This Is the End.

--The following TV shows on DVD are on sale at Target this week (more in store):

$19.99:  It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 8

$24.99:  Modern Family: Season 4

$29.99:  Vampire Diaries: Season 4

$32.99:  Grimm: Season 2

--Target Odds and Ends: Lists of $7 and $10 DVDs.

Hmmm....no price for the 3D version of Little Mermaid at Target? They didn't have Iron Man 3D last week either. Strange.

Target doesn't have it in their ad this week. There is speculation that walmart will have another $25 3D title with that one this week.

House of Wax and The Big Parade are on order, will pick up Little Mermaid, From Here to Eternity and Glee S4 eventually. I'm torn on Oz 3-D: on the one hand, I saw the IMAX version and thought the 3-D was really well done. On the other hand, I have been perfectly happy with the 2-D version all these years. Perhaps when there's a lower sale price and there aren't so many other titles competing for my disposable dollars...

Thanks for the prices!

Mike, it looks likes the link for the 3D Little Mermaid BD is directing to the 2D version. I'm in for Ariel...I'm just not sure where right now. I've cancelled my Amazon preorder. This will be a toss up between BB with the $7 coupon or WalMart, if what Tony says is right.

For whatever it's worth: I've seen a Wal-Mart ad floating around another forum which listed the Little Mermaid 2-D blu+dvd (no digital copy) version for $19.99 with a movie cash code for Frozen. With $7 coupon, I'm hoping this is accurate.

As discount stores go I much prefer shopping at Target; will they price match Little Mermaid if I take in Wal Mart's ad?

Also want to see The Croods, but will probably borrow from library.

Little Mermaid is $0.00 at Target? I'll get it there- I have a Redcard so they'll give me 5% off on top of that!

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike. Always enjoy which posters, stills, etc. you choose to represent the week's highlights.

My other review assignments for the week (Glee, The Croods) have not yet arrived, but expect those reviews at some point this week.

Does anyone know if the $7 off coupon is good for the 3D version? The coupon says Blu-Ray combo pack, but it shows only the 2D Blu-ray combo pack, rather than the 3D. The coupon also does not say, 2D or 3D combo pack. I am about to cancel my Amazon order that contains a $5 off coupon, but would hate to cancel it only to find that the $7 off coupon does not work on the 3D combo pack.

The Disney coupon for Iron Man 3 had the same language last week and I didn't have a problem getting the 3D version at BB. I'm betting it's going to work for Little Mermaid.

Yes, the stills and posters are always choice!
Thanks, fellas. I always enjoy that part of putting together the RoundUp. I used to focus on publicity stills but have recently shifted to concentrating on poster art.

Someday I'll have to share the images which serve as placeholders in my template which I use to construct each week's RoundUp.

I was just in Target and didn't notice The Little Mermaid at all, although I wasn't looking for it. BTW, the Target version of This Is the End comes with a *talking* bottle opener!
