Enjoyed the season premiere. Meeting Mycroft and Lestrade was a blast and am glad Mycroft will be visiting New York later in the season. He'll be a fun recurring character. I wouldn't have a problem with Joan and him getting involved, but I doubt they'll go there.

The last sequence with Mycroft and Sherlock was classic.  I laughed out loud after seeing Sherlock's expression with Mycroft stating they're even now.

I wonder if Mycroft spackled over the bullet holes in the wall (and would they have been an "E" instead of a "V"?)

What I liked most is they allayed any fears people had of Sherlock and Joan being distracted in one another.

Much like "Caskett"...maybe show runners/writers follow blogs in how to not piss off the legion of fans...and they sometimes pay attention.

I enjoyed it enough to rewatch it at lunchtime today. I found Mycroft very touching talking to Joan and wondering how he could become his brother's friend.

Next Saturday there is going to be an Elementary panel as part of Paley Fest New York. There's a live stream for the majority of us who can't attend in person.

A good episode in which the Watson/Holmes friendship has deepen and it brings back Mycroft's assertion that Watson has become Sherlock's friend when he never had any friends beforehand.

I agree, and I certainly applauded Watson's decision of how to use the money at the end. The case was good but not one of their more savvy ones.

Really enjoyed this week's surprise revelation of Tony's identity!

And this week's case was also quite surprising with a great twist for the murderer's identity.

As usual, this week's was an enjoyable episode, but next week features the return of Mycroft. I can't wait!

Another fine episode last night.  For my money, one of the better written shows currently airing.  I particularly liked the plot point of how a random mistake spilled over into Gregson's personal life and how the ideas about partnership were echoed in marriage and Holmes & Watson's partnership.

I am assuming that the cold cases are a setup for some future event(s) in which Watson brings a different perspective or insight into one of the cases and it becomes warm again.

Fidelity to the source should always be the goal for Blu-ray releases.

What I like about this season is that they're making a solid effort in solidifying the partnership between Holmes and Watson.

By the way, Talia Balsam, who played Gregson's wife has an interesting family background.  Her parents were Martin Balsam and Joyce Van Patten.  Dick Van Patten is her uncle.  Her first husband was George Clooney and she's currently married to John Slattery.

I agree with you, Walter, about the writing, and the program's showrunner would also agree. I just read an interview with him in which he stated their primary goal is to write the most complex mystery that they can each week with multiple reverses and layers to make their cases different from an ordinary procedural show. They don't want to make it too difficult to follow but they do want the mysteries to challenge astute viewers.

They've sure got me hooked. Besides The Good Wife, this is my favorite hour on television right now.

Another episode with great writing.  Miller as Holmes makes me smile every week.  His mannerisms and such cracks me up.

I really love the dynamic between Sherlock and Mycroft and saved the episode so I could watch it again this weekend. Very entertaining. I hope we'll have many return visits by Sherlock's sibling.

I believe that part of the fun of watching Holmes and Mycroft is seeing Holmes receive, from Mycroft, the sort of treatment that Holmes normally dispenses to others.  Loved the character's facial expressions during the very uncomfortable car ride, with Watson and Mycroft in the front seats being prodded by Holmes.

Wonderfully entertaining episode, but dear, oh, dear what is Mycroft up to? Was that Lestrade he was talking to? Surely not Moriarty!

Could be the ex-wife...er...almost ex-wife. Maybe he brought her in the family...so to speak. A way to earn getting out of the horse business.
