Why are we not angrier about lack of content in better color depths?

so why are we settling for 16.7mil colors vs. 68BILLION?


i thought we were all video enthusiasts?


with the possible 4k-based blu-rays.... why aren't content producers increasing color depths?

we are limited by 8 bit by all current standards of broadcast, storage, and displays.


UHD has the promise of increasing bit depth with the adaption of rec2020, however we do not currently have the ability to achieve rec2020 at present.

Heck, we are still waiting for XVcolor and Deep Color.


Those were "selling points" of TV's in the early 90s.

first thing should be content providers must start encoding it 10, 12 or 16bit depths.
