New season about to start, new thread!

Oh God, how I miss this show. We need it now more than ever.

FX felt that they weren't get enough advertising $$$, so they converted Fox Soccer to FXX. Just gotta remember to adjust my season pass to the new channel.

I love it too. The shot of Frank, wearing only his underpants, trapped inside the playground ladder kills me every time I see it.That being said, not loving the move to FXX. The new channel is replacing the Fox Soccer channel, which means that as of right now I'd have to buy some useless sports tier to watch it.

Right as I'm typing this, FXX is running a Parks and Rec marathon (JERRY DINNER!!), and playing some really great episodes.

Day was on Conan a month or two back. Showed a clip of Dee and Charlie trying to convince Roddy Piper and the Denim Shorts Army-Guy to join a pyramid scheme. So yeah, things are looking good so far.

A few years back, Charlie told Conan that DeVito was willing to do almost anything they asked him to do (except Frank getting repeatedly prison-raped). So it's just a matter of the writers thinking of the most fucked up things to do with him. Frank just snapped with the divorce.

Fortunately, Time Warner finally got FXX coming through okay before tonight's episode. Not one of the better ones, but it was worth sitting through just to see Dee and Dennis completely lose it at the end. Another step in Dennis's path toward becoming a full-fledged Patrick Bateman-style psychopath. It looks like Charlie's going to be going America all over everybody's ass again next week.

Well...I guess it's infinitely better than Charlie going THIS all over everybody's ass:

"You’re right in that sweet-spot between suicidal and actually-dead, which, most comedians, they THRIVE there."

"He's got a lot of...his teeth..."
"Not all of his teeth."
"Not all..."

Good to have the Gang back. The reveal of the twist killed me, with the Gang so happy that they may have accidentally broken Dennis, as well.

(Also, wish there had been more of Huell's stand-up. He ruled.)

For my money, season seven is the strongest season in the show's history, at least so far. Six of the episodes from that season are among my very favorites of the entire show.

Did not realize Landslide was Huell! There were some really funny parts in the premiere, but it wasn't anywhere near a classic episode until the reveal at the end. The reveal was so amazing, I almost shit myself laughing. What a blindside! Instant classic. They manipulated Dee into sleeping with Azamat AND Taub.

Yeah, Lavell Crawford's a stand-up comedian in real life (as is the great Bill Burr), and a damned funny one, to boot.

It only took FIVE FUCKING YEARS, but Chase Utley finally responded to Mac's letter:

(Oh, and at the end of the episode, it felt VERY clear that Dennis was going out to find a woman to murder.)

Well shit, FXX is an add on channel for my cable company. This just blows. I hope this doesn't mean other shows will jump ship to it. The league is also on it. Damn it.

"Wow. There is some score-settling going on in there."

Every time the guy who plays Gunther shows up as a guest star in Justified or whatever, I ask myself where I know him from. And it takes me about 60 seconds to realize he is not Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart.

I'm always convinced he's Billy Gibbons.

Let's not forget his role as Michael Ironside's buddy in V: The Final Battle.

Also liked Mac's steadfast refusal to believe he could be shot before he could stab someone.

I think this is the first time they've mentioned Dee being institutionalized, no? Not to mention it was a stalker-situation. In any case, it was funny.

I loved the opening where Frank is telling the mugging-story on TV, and says, "I don't know if they were after money, or something more sexual..." He just tosses it off, like (A) of course this little bald dwarf is a high-risk target for rape, and (B) he's not even that put out by it. Like ehhh, some people like money; some people just like to sodomize drunken trolls. C'est la vie.

Then he starts eating a hoagie, because really it's a wonder he didn't start that earlier.

Also, his lawyer being a raging pedophile who waves around child porn. Frank hangs out with some of the honest-to-God sketchiest people ever to grace our TV screens. At this point, I would definitely include the gang in that.

I loved that both Dee and Dennis failed background checks. Dee being institutionalized for setting a chick on fire is a nice reversal of "Frank Sets Sweet Dee on Fire". And the gun shop owner's reference to Dennis's history of criminally lascivious behavior adds more fuel to the fire of Dennis being a stone-cold rapist.

Didn't care for the gun episode at all. Really liked the previous episode though, where they broke down Dee.

Last season was the first time I looked more forward to "The League" than this show, even though that Rafi character is still on there. So far this season, it looks a lot more promising, though I hate the move to FXX (which sounds like the name of a porn channel).I loved the premiere, and the outcome at the end, was something I did not see coming. Totally brillant! The gun episode was good, though not as funny. I was wondering who that guy was at the convention, and later found out that he was Jacob Hale on "Sons of Anarchy".

Holy meta. A bit too on the nose at times, but I enjoyed this one, particularly Charlie's Randy Newman theme-song. Also, The Wire reference with Chad Coleman popping back up. "Black bars never win awards."

It felt like a very undisguised critique of normal sitcom conventions early on, but once they got back to Paddy's it was pretty much solid gold.

Things I loved:- Frank's reaction when the owner of Sudz mentioned that the Paddy's-branded egg had cracked and leaked green yolk all over the inside of the bag. Funniest "Oh, shit!" I've heard in a long time.
- The fact that each member of the gang put away was clearly meant to be a group party drink on their own.
- Charlie's bar anthems, before and after huffing spray paint.- Frank and Artemis, as disturbing as ever.
- The return of Frank's bridge friend, Z, serving as their last-minute token African American.
- Charlie escaping through yet another secret trapdoor hidden within Paddy's.
