Well, at least it's not "Time's Arrow."  This one has gravitas to it, a real reason for being.  The only reason Seaon 5 ended with a cliffhanger was to make sure audiences knew DS9 wasn't getting all the attention.  "TA" is a boring two part episode that whimpers to the end.  I can at least get behind "Unification".

Hopefully, this means S6 will give us Chain of Command as the "movie", since its cliffhanger wasn't that great, either.

I'd be up for a movie version of "Chain of Command."  One of my favorite TNGs.

Considering the other options ("Birthright" and "Descent"), this had better be right.  I can't imagine sitting through 90 minutes of the most mundance two-parter ever ("Birthright").  "Time's Arrow" was boring; "Birthright" was useless...IMHO, of course.

This episode was also done in conjunction with "Star Trek VI-The Undiscovered Country" as a cross-promotional story, telecast during 1991's November sweeps period as a teaser for the theatrical feature, since both Leonard Nimoy & Mark Lenard were prominently featured in both...it was a VERY big deal back then to have both the original cast members and "TNG" doing joint appearances in each other's projects for the show's 25th Anniversary year...
