That's unexpected. I never thought I'd see Meryl Streep's second Academy Award winning performance make it to Blu-ray! Thank you Shout Factory.

A depressing film, but some impressive performances by Streep and Kline.

(And it is a very literate adaptation of the book, which I read before seeing the movie in the theater.)

Great to see this is coming, but Amazon's link isn't accepting pre-orders yet, Ron...will pull the trigger when it does!!! Now, how about "On Golden Pond"(1981), starring Henry & Jane Fonda and Kate Hepburn, Shout Factory??? It's part of your ITV licensing agreement too!!!

I've only been able to sit through this film once. It's a harrowing story.

Tried that and it didn't work...I'm an Amazon Prime member, too, Steve!!!

I got thru to the product page, no picture, but price and release date (November 19), and preorder options (cart/1-click). Ordered it 1-click for free 2-day shipping once released, it does not recognize the stated release date as the delivery date yet, but I've seen that before.

Don't know what is happening. I just tried to preorder this using
the link and it worked perfectly. Perhaps use another browser?

Something strange is going on. When I use my iPad, it works fine. However, using my desktop whether with google chrome or internet explorer, I'm experiencing the same problems as Steve.

Edit: Strange, five minutes later, now it's working fine on my desktop. At least with internet explorer, still not working with google chrome.

It's not just because of your link, but there are problems when you go directly to Amazon's site to order it. It's not working again with explorer even if you go directly to Amazon to order it.

Realize, they just added this title within the past day.

Let's see if it gets updated. I check Amazon several times
a day for new releases so I will keep everyone updated.

I hope Shout is holding back On Golden Pond for a massive Special Edition and/or a better transfer.

is this still on tap to be released on 11/19/13, I find it odd that it still doesn't have artwork, or show up on Shout's website at all.

Such an amazing film. Like others here, hard to watch often/more than once because it's very sad. Marvin Hamlisch's score can make me cry when I hear it played. I'll be ordering this. I have an old DVD somewhere. I'd love to see a Blu-ray of Streep's PLENTY, too -- great flick!

This movie was the first time I had seen Kevin Kline and I became a fan. His performance is so convincing. One both loves and hates him. I thought he very much resembled Errol Flynn in this film. Very sad movie but beautifully acted by everyone. Along with the excellent Meryl Streep movies that have been mentioned, let's have THE BIG CHILL on blu-ray.

Have never seen this film. For some reason, I had always associated the film
as being a "chick flick."

Should I really think about ordering this blindly?

Kevin Kline played Douglas Fairbanks in Chaplin. That was just a few years ahead of Flynn's time.

I don't consider it a chick flick, but a serious, ultimately harrowing, drama. As to a blind buy, I don't know how to answer that, but for what little it's worth, I consider it essential in my collection.
