Culver City, Calif. (July 22, 2013) – Experience a heartwarming tale of second chances and pure happiness when LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED arrives on Blu-ray and DVD from Sony Pictures Classics and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on Sept. 10th. Set against the backdrop of picture-perfect Sorrento, Italy, the romantic comedy follows the unexpected meeting of two lonely strangers – an English widower (Pierce Brosnan; Mamma Mia!) and a Danish hairdresser (Trine Dyrholm: In A Better World) – who come to discover that in life … love is all you need.  The film is directed by Susanne Bier, director of Academy Award® winning film In A Better World (2011, Best Foreign Language Film) from a script co-written with Anders Thomas Jensen.

 

Both the Blu-ray and DVD come with special bonus features including commentary with Pierce Brosnan and Director Susanne Bier, and a Q&A with Pierce Brosnan, Trine Dryholm, Susanne Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen.  Also included is a behind-the-scenes featurette with Trine Dyrholm, as well as interviews with the cast at the 2012 Venice Film Festival. 

 

Synopsis:

From Susanne Bier, director of the Academy Award® and Golden Globe® winning film In A Better World (2011, Best Foreign Language Film) comes a romantic comedy set in Sorrento, Italy. Philip (Brosnan), an Englishman living in Denmark, is a middle-aged widower and estranged single father. Ida (Dyrholm) is a Danish hairdresser who’s just been left by her husband for a younger woman. The fates of these two souls are about to intertwine as they embark for a trip to Italy to attend the wedding of Patrick and Astrid, Philip’s son and Ida’s daughter.  It’s a story about seeking love and having the courage to change your life – even when you think it’s too late.
