The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

How 16?

It's (rounding) $40 list, 50% sale gets you to $20, if you're a member 10% more gets you to $18

That price also goes for Babette's Feast

The only thing on my get list this week is Super Friends.  It'll have to wait until I get home from San Diego on Wednesday afternoon.  I'm looking forward to finishing the Super Friends franchise on DVD this year...at long long last!

Maybe   $5off$50 if you buy 3 of the usual suspect  gets you right at $16

If you can wiggle the 8off40  through the hoops then it gets stupid good.   Picked up 5 titles today for about $14 each after tax with some

fancy couponing,

3 $40 titles with the sale, discount and 5/50 come out to $54 with tax for me, so basically the coupon takes care of tax lol, at least in CA

I'll pick up Mystery Science Theater 3000 this week and since the price will be good, I'll probably get The Ice Storm as well.

Thanks for the prices, Mike! :)

I put up the review for The Ice Storm last night. It can be found here.

Mike, I have on my roster that The 300 Spartans is slated for release this week. Is that wrong? Does it come out next week with Niagara, Bus Stop, and Love Me Tender?

Thanks for the RoundUp as always.

Three Criterion's for me this week...

Babette's Feast

The Ice Storm (after reading Matt's excellent review!)

The Devil's Backbone (according to the B&N website, they'll have a week early - 7/23 - perhaps as a perk for running the 50% off sale?)

Thanks, as always, for the RoundUp, Mike!

Hey, Matt.  I checked out Amazon which shows this as "currently unavailable".  Perhaps this was slated for release and then pulled?

Thanks, Mike, nothing for me this week from your list.  After buying 6 Criterions and B&N, wallet needs a break.

Thanks, Steve. That may be the case. It wouldn't be the first time.

It got delayed once that sequel to 300 was delayed by Fox.  It will come out again once that film is rescheduled.

There were some (uniquely coded) 15%-off coupons plus a rare $5 GC sent out via email heading into the weekend. I had emails for both myself and only got around to using the $5 GC online, which meant no 10% member's discount.

I suspect there will be more of the 15-20%-off coupons coming via email before the sale's over, if you can't get your local store to accept the $8-off-40 coupon.

It's the 15 or 20% coupons that aren't working at the CC sale for me. I've had 3 different stores decline them for CCs, and the stores are putting up specific memos at the registers to tell clerks not to ring them up for CC titles.

What Man said.

As for the 15/20% coupons they are hit or miss it seems.

I've been lucky enou to never have had a problem.

This past week I used both and also used 8/40 and 5/50.

It's Saturday on the last day the recent set expired the csr scanned them but it didn't work. She then typed in the code and they worked.

Used 15% on Jubal and a 20% on Rashamon.

At my local store tonight, the extremely nice csr tried to use both the 8/40 and 5/50 coupons for me...but the 8/40 wouldn't go into the system.  Sher also thought the 5/50 didn't work...but it showed up on the receipt!  :thumbs-up-smiley:

So, after getting Safety Last!, Umberto D and Summer with Monika when the sale started, tonight I picked up:

Babette's Feast

Lord of the Flies

3:10 to Yuma

Jubal

$150 sticker.  After the sale discount, Member discount and $5 coupon it was brought down to $62.46 before tax...an average of $15.62 per title.  I'm down with that!
