When Microsoft announced the XBox One, many existing XBox owners were left in shock with the new DRM rules. Microsoft has revised some of the DRM policies, but many existing Xbox owners are still upset with the limitations.

The users have started a petition that currently has over 21K signers.

What's funny is that nearly all of the XBOne's old DRM measures would effectively still apply (minus the "share with 10 people" part) if people commit to only buying the downloaded versions of games. So...this petition is kind of meaningless.

That's the whole point Morgan, they threw out the baby with the bath water. There was goodness in what they had in mind, but the bad points outweighed it.

My point was that the DRM stuff still applies if you only buy electronic versions of games. You can't install games off discs or share with 10 people, but otherwise the current system is basically the same as what they were proposing.

Kevin, your description is very misleading. It makes it sound as though the petition is for people who think that Microsoft's change of heart doesn't go far enough -- in reality, the petition is for Microsoft to REVERSE its change of heart and go back to what was originally announced!

I've given up trying to understand what MS is doing with the new Xbox, until its for sale and reviewed. This is becoming like Windows RT: incomprehensible product launch. They've had a serious breakdown in their marketing and/or advertising divisions.
