Enjoyed it quite a bit; good setup, bigger than expected cast.   This could be a pretty fun show; I didn't realize the scriptwriter/showrunner was also the scriptwriter/showrunner from "Southland", which gives this a bit more pedigree

I enjoyed the premiere, but it was almost too densely packed.  It kind of wore me out just seeing a day in Ray's life; which I suppose was the point.  It looks like Mickey (Jon Voight) is going to be one evil bastard on this show.  "Bag or bat?"  :)

Fidelity to the source should always be the goal for Blu-ray releases.

I am interested in this but was worried that it looked to be episodic.  Is that the case?

From the previews of the season shown at the conclusion of the episode, many of these subplots look to be continuing arcs for the season. I supposed Ray will get new cases every week, too.

I agree that there were an awful lot of stories going on here. And that pushy starlet modeled on Brittney Spears has already exhausted her good will with me. Sadly, she looks to be a continuing irritant.

Yes, from the creator/show runner of Southland, and I certainly saw that multi-part plotting that was a Southland mainstay.

The storylines are compelling though the strong arming will eventually get old, even with acts of kindness in retrospect. Took me two episodes to finally figure out that was Steven Bauer (somehow had missed his name in the credits). These family dynamics are explosive (and dangerous)!

I must be alone in that I love that this shows fairly episodic with an arching storyline. The cases are good stuff. The lawyer angle needs to be tuned a bit, but this is definitely fits the bill for summer fare.

Renewed for a second season.

Climactic set-up for the rest of the season looks interesting.

Yeah, now we know the dad is in on it with the FBI for sure, though that's been an expectation since Episode 1.   Still, where this goes is anyone's guess.   I do like how matter of fact he was at taking down the bugs.

Maybe my memory is getting faulty, but do we know who either of those bugged people were? Had we met either of them in earlier episodes? (I amend this question by stating I always fast forward through the recaps at the beginning. Maybe I shouldn't!)

I'm pretty sure they're new to us.

I'm enjoying this show, though it does have an unusual vibe to it.  Now that the Executive Producer is headed to prison for running a gambling ring, I wonder what happens with this show next year..

Just got around to watching last week's episode this morning. There are an awful lot of plots going on, maybe too many to be explored decisively.

And, of course, as a Time-Warner customer, we've lost Showtime for the moment, so I didn't even get to record last night's episode, much less watch it.

Sorry to all you time warner users ;)

This show definitely strikes me as one that needs to be watched marathon style.

The moment they revealed that the agent was the only one who knew, I had an idea of where this was going.. still, a great episode.

Due to the Time-Warner/CBS-Showtime brouhaha, I'm now four weeks behind on Ray Donovan. I may just have to get it On Demand once Showtime is returned to us.

I'm enjoying this show, but with each episode, it becomes more and more like a huge Samsung phone commercial with violence. I lost count of the amount of times the characters whipped out their phones and how many times I saw the Samsung logo. It starting to get more OTT than the Ford commercials they have in the middle of Bones episodes.

At this rate, the show will be half Roy Donovan and half a message from their sponsor by the season finale.

I'm surprised there aren't any comments after this weeks episode.

It was great and Voigt is still a terrific actor. (I think because the people he plays are actually pretty close to the way he is as a person - lol)

I finally got to watch it today.. and wow.   A whole lot happened.   But how many people can become aware of the murdering going on without anyone going to the cops?   The entire sequence with the priest.. BRUTAL
