The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you
want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).
The Specials--Best Buy, this week, is advertising a $10 off coupon on Body of Proof: Season 3 on DVD. Find your coupon for Body of Proof: S3 on DVD at ABCTVonDVDCoupon.com.
--Best Buy also has a SAVE $5 instantly deal when you buy BOTH 21 & Over AND Movie 43.

--The following recent releases are on sale this week at Best Buy (all DVD unless otherwise noted):
$12.99: Battlestar Galactica: Season 4.5 (Blu-ray)

$14.99: Warehouse 13: Season 1, Warehouse 13: S2, Battlestar Galactica: Season 3, Battlestar Galactica: S4, Eureka: S3, Eureka: S4, Eureka: S4.5.

$17.99: Warehouse 13: Season 3.
$19.99: Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (DVD), Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (Blu), Covert Affairs: S1, Covert Affairs: S2.
$24.99: Covert Affairs: Season 3
$34.99: Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (3-D Blu).
--Best Buy Odds and Ends: None to report.
--Target this week has the VERY SAME deal (as Best Buy) to SAVE $5 instantly when you buy BOTH 21 & Over AND Movie 43.
--Target Odds and Ends: None to report.

Please, forgive the OP being broken up over two posts.

Am trying some different formatting this week--a huge change, for me, in how I've been compiling these things--and ran into a snag or two posting this thing up tonight. Most of the change involves the price tables and amazon links. Please LMK if you detect any problems.

But all looks safe and sound.

I just fixed another problem and reinstalled the links to those titles with HTF reviews posted.

Again, if I am missing anything, please LMK. I know I've got enough sets of "eagle eyes" trained on this stuff.

The image for Jack the Giant Slayer is not showing up for me. There were also a couple of missing images from last week's post.

Hmmmmmm. I see it.

Can anyone else chime in?

I did notice that two of the images from last week's WRU DID disappear though. But I see Jack the Giant Slayer right now.

Mike:

No Jack image for me (viewing on a Mac/Safari).

I'm going to check out the review of Things to Come...might be a rental for me. Heard about it a lot during my old "Famous Monster of Filmland" days...

All righty gents...

I have just switched out the original image (of Jack the Giant Slayer) with a replacement.

Better?!?

Just a heads up: Safety Last stars Harold Lloyd -- who is in the photo, not Buster Keaton. Also, a typo on the Leslie Howard/Bette Davis film, it is "Of" Human Bondage. Some great classics this week.

Ugh. Thanks, Dennis. I must've been a bit distracted this week. It's what comes from taking something that you've done a certain way for years and turning it on its ear for the sake of becoming a bit more efficient and saving some time (after I get used to things).

But that's horrible. I'm off to set things right!

You state that The Dragon Pearl is a Walmart exclusive. Is there some way you can list what the price is? I realize the grid can't easily accommodate other retailers, but couldn't you at least include it in the Specials section?

Now if you don't have access to the price, maybe mention that too. It just seems odd to have a listing without any other information.

What, you can't look that up yourself as it takes less time to do that then to post your comments.

From the Disclaimer section, part of the Round-Up every week:

Crawdaddy becomes Smackdowndaddy for a moment. Works.

Totally separate thing: I just realized the Disney discs from last week (minus Atlantis) shove all the extras onto the DVDs, including commentary. I noticed this after putting the discs in and searching in vain. Wish I'd never bought them now, so I could take advantage of the quality double feature deal of the century that is 21 & Over + Movie 43. This week's discs will hopefully wash that away in short order, especially the boatload worth of Criterion.

Mike, I'm seeing a strange formatting artifact on my system (Mac Mountain Lion w/ Safari). All the prices are broken into two lines, with the dollar sign sitting on top of the first number. Example follows:

$
24.99

Just checked it with Chrome - same problem.

Also, I can't say I'm a fan of the colored backgrounds, especially the pink-ish colors on the DVD table.

I do see the Jack The Giant Slayer image, though! :)

On a Mac running the latest Safari on Lion (10.7), the biggest formatting issue I see is there's a tab indent worth of space between $ signs and prices. I like the alternating colors, helps focus/differentiate titles with the actual corresponding price.

I'll have the review for Criterion's Marketa Lazarova up later today. I ran out of time last night (it is 2 3/4 hours long with a lot of bonuses).

Fox's large handful of releases this week have not arrived yet for me to review. Those will be sprinkling in during the week.

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike.

I'll probably pick up some BSG to round out the collection this week, but that's about it.

For my money, I like having the DVD's and BD's color coded differently and broken out by two posts. I'm seriously wondering if putting the disclaimer and the deal text in a third post would be helpful too. I'm a very visual person and breaking the information up is easier for me to find and read.

They want $25 for the 1948 "One Touch of Venus"? Yeah, that's gonna fly of the shelves :P And when it doesn't they'll say, "see, old movies don't sell."
