The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

One of these days, I'm going to bite on the Universal Monsters Collection.  But this isn't that time.  Funds are pretty tight right now, which an upcoming trip back to Detroit, a rental car back to Seattle AND at least three hotels along the way.  Mercifully, this is a pay week.

Also, I'll be getting the Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry/Race With The Devil two pack. Peter Fonda!

I preordered Earthquake and Scent of a Woman/Sea of Love so looking forward to receiving them.

This is a BIG Fox week for releases, both new films and vault titles, but, of course, I haven't received any of them yet to be able to post reviews. Expect those to dribble out during the week.

Can't slog through much of the garbled pricing grid on this phone app, but definitely EARTHQUAKE for me this week. Can't wait to crank it up and enjoy as little or as much as it will deliver.

When you do decide to get the Universal Monsters set, I would strongly recommend the UK version. It's region free, has the same content as the US one, but it's usually at least $15 cheaper than the US version. It's currently $52 including shipping from Amazon UK.

Yeah, I've heard the same thing in the Monsters thread here.  It will be the UK version for sure.  It's just a matter of when.

Amazon has come around and matched the Best Buy price for the BD of Breaking Bad Season 5 at $29.99 (it was $44 there yesterday). Sure it's just Season 5, part 1, but we all know they'll release Season 5, part 2, and a Complete Series set long before a complete Season 5 set, so fans like us might as well grab it now.

Having plowed through the Mad Max Trilogy set, here are my proviso'd recommendations to my fellow Lords Humongous:

Prices on the single Mad Max 2 and Beyond Thunderdome discs are bound to drop before the end of the year.

If you have the MGM Mad Max Blu-ray and don't care about Beyond Thunderdome, grab the single Mad Max 2 disc. The Mad Max Blu-ray in the Trilogy set is an exact data duplicate of the previous MGM release.

If you have the old 2007 Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior) disc, the new one is absolutely worth picking up. The new Lossless audio is an improvement, and for the love of god, the color timing actually looks like it should at long last.

If you are bothered by packaging that lacks printed words on the spine describing the contents of the thing on your shelf, the Mad Max Trilogy set will anger you.

I thought the Uni Monsters had already been released individually?  I must have thought wrong.

At this price, I made a blind buy on the Blu-Ray of the first season while I was at the mall tonight. All of my friends have been raving about it for years, and I like Blu-Ray over Netflix.

Thanks as always, Mike!

Something of a word of warning, the first season was cut short by the writer's strike so the season just kinda stops rather than building up to a climax.

Thanks for the heads up. It's only seven episodes, so I'll probably watch half the first season tomorrow night and the remainder Saturday. Assuming it's my cup of tea, I'll pick up the second season before the sale price ends Saturday evening.

Also Fry's is having a huge sale for teh second week in a row, go to their website and click on the flyer at the top. They have a lot of BD's for cheap, like $2 cheap as well as others. Granted you may not want any of them but if you do, you can't go wrong.
