I have it and it's Region B locked. Subtitles are removable. Picture quality is very good but of course opticals throughout so...mostly good. There are 2 versions on the blu-ray. One has Walter Brennon narrating and the other has the pages of the old west book instead. I prefer the latter as it's longer and the quality seems better overall. The book that the set comes with is in French but has lots of pictures.

Where did you hear this?
This has been already announced for region-free UK release by Sony in October, with a virtually simultaneous US release tentatively planned...

I'd really love to have The Heiress on Blu-ray, but since it took forever for it to even come out on DVD, I'm not holding my breath. It's such a beautiful film, and Clift is perfect in it.

I'd like to see a lot more of Clift's work on blu. I thought Raintree County was coming to blu or had already been prepared for a blu-ray release.

On their Facebook page back in January - "WHV considering for the future, but certainly not any time soon. This will be a very costly undertaking."

Judging from my Italian DVD, it will indeed be a costly undertaking and will not be completed anytime soon.

Waiting for many of his films, especially "The Search", "A Place in the Sun" (for which a DCP exists) and "From Here to Eternity".

I found an anamorphic DVD of Freud on eBay from Korea of all places. Released by Maru entertainment, it's Region A (or all), uncut and 16X9 enhanced for only 9 bucks! That's better than anything officially released in Spain or the U.K.

My favorite Clift movie is definitely From Here to Eternity, so I was very happy to hear it's coming out on Blu-ray soon.

I'm wondering why I Confess hasn't given been a BD release. It's not a bad little Hitchcock movie, and with so many other Hitchcock works being released on Blu, why was this one skipped?

You have to look at which studio controls these titles. Warner has a number of Hitchcock titles, but only has released three to BD. North by Northwest, Strangers on a Train and Dial M for Murder. They still have The Wrong Man, Stage Fright, I Confess, Foreign Correspondent, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Suspicion not released so far to BD. So a total of six Hitchcock films that Warner has rights to haven't been released on BD. We can only hope that Warner does something with them as a few are among my favorite Hitchcock films.
