For many, Media Browser 3 is a complete game changer..

Providing a web front end to your media interface, Media Browser is now accessible with minimal work to your iPhone, iPad, Android Tablet, Windows Tablet.. and it gives you tons of features..

From integrated reviews from Rotten Tomatoes to trailers and extra content, Media Browser3 helps put it all in perspective.

It instantly scans your library for "other titles you might like" and makes suggestions as to what to watch next..

But you're on the road, maybe you want more than just to browse your library on the road, on your phone or tablet.... notice that little "Play" button? That's right, MB3 will transcode your content and provide it to you on your portable device, no matter where you are. GIving you your own personal cloud containing all your favorite music, video, tv shows and more...

While Still in Beta, MB3 is off to an amazing start with the basic concept at hand, and for many is going to be a real gamechanger.

Is web browser the interface, or the alternate interface for mobile devices? Is the 1-5 Kbps upstream of a typical home broadband sufficient to stream video?

It's hard to say it's an "alternate" as it's just one interface. It's the main interface for the server; but they are issuing out clients for:

Android, iPhone/Ipad, Windows Phone, WindowsRT Tablet, Windows Media Center, RaspberryPi, etc. So, each one of them will have their own client.

But the browser interface will be the thing that the clients (except for the Windows Media Center client) connect to.

Will you be reviewing this. I'm curious what this does (I sort of understood MB2), but I'm lost on even the basic "what is it" question of MB3. Is it an extender for DVR use? Does it complement and run alongside media center? Does it need a dedicated server and server OS? Does it have a 10 ft remote-control interface, or is it desktop, keyboard and mouse web browser UI only?

Where can you get the Android App? I don't see it listed anywhere.

Do I need to put the Server and the Classic programs both on the PC with MCE?

Looks interesting for sure.

I'll have reviews and videos up soon, but because there are a lot of different components it will be different. If you want, it can be used exactly as Media Browser 2 was used; a media organizer for Windows Media Center. It just adds on other functions as well, streaming, transcoding, etc. But no, it's not a DVR,

A lot of people will still use it like this

With the direct Media Center plugin.

And, while it's somewhat the same they have improved some portions as well.

The normal video wall is extended and improved with higher resolution image support (HD Images) as well as a guide that runs smoother as it pulls from a tighter DB format; this also allows for auto-alerts when your media library makes changes

Here it's telling me that Spiderman (the 4k BD I received yesterday) is now part of my library on my network... so anytime content gets added to my library, bam, there it is.

Right now, it's still a mid-level beta, so it would be unfair to really go through all the goodies just yet as they are still being worked out; but the opening salvo is damn impressive.

Android App is coming soon. Yes, you need to install both the server and the client.. even if you have one PC. The server portion (small) manages the database, you'll have to do a one time setup to tell it where you store your media/etc.

Parker, I've tested on my Android and iPad tablets, and this is how it looks/works (video soon)

Login Screen

Brings you to collection screen

Browse your library

Chose a movie..

Notice the "Play" button? That's right.. even if your content is stored on your network in full-quality MKV with HiDef audio, live streaming of your content to your tablet goes like butter. Chapter stops are enabled, it remembers where you are at.. music, tv, movies, whatever.. any media you have at home on your network accessible anywhere in the world with Wifi or LTE (well, you'd probably pay a fair bit for the LTE if you use the hell out of it ;)

Pardon my voice, I am battling alergies bad right now.. it seems almost like I've went up an octave since I can't breathe worth a damn

Hold put.. I remembered I had the Panasonic AVCCAM here with me, so I don't know why I did't use a procamera to get this. I'm going to redo the video so that it looks better.

I have been playing with Media Browser 3 now for a few days and so far so good! I love it. Like everything beta though there are a few kinks but honestly, surprisingly nothing major. I deal with a lot of home theater clients and I am excited for this to be released after its beta period. I think many of my clients will enjoy this and find it quite intuitive.

Their plugin base is becoming fantastic. Integration of video trailer backgrounds and theme music upon selection, better handling of trailers and extras. Nothing like it on the market. Just fantastic stuff.

A beta Podcasts plugin was released for MB3 server yesterday. I'd never tried the previous one for MB2, but I'm having entirely too much fun with this one. I now have immediate access to all of NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts. :)
