Unlikely I know but I would love old sports events to be released. NBA games, football games, boxing matches. There's a bootleg market out there for many events but I'd love official releases. Things like Ali fights I'd love on DVD!

Have you checked out Amazon?

Plenty of complete World Series box sets, and NFL, NBA, and NHL Team themed game sets. Not as many as you might like, but they're out there.

The thing about "official" releases is that they are devoid of pregame/postgame etc. which is why most of us who are sports fanatics admittedly do prefer going the other route.     However, an official release that gives us great video quality for certain things will also be welcome.

These World Series have been released complete on DVD.     1975-1977-1979-1985-1986-1987-1988-1991-2001-2002 and all WS from 2004 to the present.     Greatest game compilations will also land you things like Larsen's perfect game, Mazeroski's HR in the 1960 WS etc.

That's what I'm interested in. Complete broadcasts & any bonus footage when possible. I have some sports I taped years ago & when I look at then now, it puts me back in the moment the more complete a broadcast I have.

Yeah, that's one thing I don't get is editing the broadcasts down to nothing. There are NFL games on DVD that come in under 2 hours because of all the chopping.

Yeah, there is something special about seeing old broadcasts of games from yesteryear. Not just the games themselves, but the broadcasting and seeing how the graphics looked, and back when the score was not always on the screen, but would pop up every now and then.

I get so annoyed when seeing them on one of the sports networks (NFL Network, NBA TV), because of that constant scrolling of news at the bottom (not sure what it's called exactly). I mean, seriously, is it really necessary to have the latest news or scores scrolling at the bottom when airing a vintage game? It kind of takes away from the nostalgic moment.

I have several of the World Series sets and enjoy them very much. The video quality varies, but it is nice to be able to watch these original broadcasts. I also have This Week in Baseball Season 1 from the 1977 season. It looks like it a copy of video tape, but again, I enjoy reliving the pennent races and seeing the players from that era. I am hoping they continue with these releases.
