For the First Time Ever on DVD, Five Fun-Filled Stories of the New Elmo Series

Plus, the full-length classic home video, “Let’s Make Music”

BURBANK, CA (March 28, 2013) – Get ready to sing, dance, play and imagine with Elmo as Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group release Elmo the Musical on DVD May 7, 2013 at a SRP of $14.98.  The Elmo the Musical DVD includes Elmo’s newest imaginative and math skill-enhancing lessons along with the home video classic, “Let’s Make Music.” This 82-minute disc, the first ever containing the new Elmo The Musical segment. This title will also be available for download and will retail for $9.99.

Debuting in Sesame Street’s 43rd season, Elmo the Musical is an extension of the show’s S-T-E-A-M curriculum (science, technology, engineering, arts and math). Each 11 minute episode is an interactive, fun-filled musical adventure created by Elmo and the child at home. Focusing on imagination and math skills, such as enumeration, relational concepts, addition/subtraction, geometric shapes and many more, Elmo takes viewers on thrilling explorations as he imagines himself in “Sea Captain the Musical,” “Circus the Musical,” “Prince Elmo the Musical” and even “President the Musical!”

“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group is excited to bring Elmo the Musical, the newest release in the Elmo brand, to parents and children alike,” said Jeff Brown, WBHEG Executive Vice President and GM of Non-Theatrical Franchise Marketing. “We are eager to continue in grand Sesame Street tradition, providing fun and educational programming to children that they can enjoy again and again.”

Now in its 43rd season, Sesame Street is the longest-running program in children’s television and the number one top-of-mind show of preschool show with moms. The series has received more Emmy awards than any other show in television history (146), as well as a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award honoring the 40th year.
