During the entire month of January and February Home Theater Forum will be asking our membership to nominate and then vote upon the BEST and WORST Blu-ray releases of 2012. What makes our awards so important is that they aren't voted from within the industry by committees or journalists. The selection of these awards begin and end with the HTF membership -- those individuals that know Blu-ray better than anyone else!

VOTE FOR THE TOP NOMINATED TITLES: January 20-March 3rd

Winners Will be announced March 4th

PLEASE READ THESE RULES VERY CAREFULLY

You may only vote once per category
Discussion is allowed in these threads

Please note: This is generally a 5 title category.  However nominations were so close we added a 6th title.

BEST CATALOG BLU-RAY RELEASE?

What catalog Blu-ray Release in 2012 represents the very best of what was released that year?

I only have two of those, Jaws & Lawrence Of Arabia. I'm sure they're six great releases, but it can only be.. Lawrence Of Arabia.

I have all, sans Heavens Gate, and while completely blown away by LOA, i wouod have to go with Wings, the fact that it looks as it should, is a testament to the great work that can be done and done properly Posted Image

Okay, I own all of the aforementioned and have to say that there wasn't a single failure among them. It's so difficult to judge this category because every title herein is a winner. I still tipped my hat to Lawrence of Arabia, though, not just for the transfer, but also for the grand way Sony chose to debut it in that magnificent LP sized packaging and superb hard cover book. The 'wow' factor was evident in every department. Just stunning. Much appreciated, and surely to be much loved and re-watched for many years to follow. But nothing that I've seen herein from virtually all of the other titles listed was not perfection.

I have one big beef with the otherwise exemplary LAWRENCE OF ARABIA Blu-ray- that the extended balcony scene is presented in standard-definition. Vincent
