Archer returns with more madness tonight.   Laughed hard several times tonight.

I'd seen quite a few comments on Twitter about an awesome cold open for the premiere, and I have to admit that I was a little disappointed after the buildup. That's most likely because I don't watch Bob's Burgers, I guess, but still. Overall a decent episode though.

I enjoyed the premiere. I watch Bob's Burgers. Both shows are funny. Being a fan of Bob's Burgers makes the opening funnier. The whole story is actually centered around Archer actually being Bob from Bob's Burger.

The last 30 seconds of tonight's episode were some of the best for the whole series.   But I really dug the entire Pam getting on her high horse about office policy.

I haven't caught the season premiere yet. There was atmospheric interference last week and the DVR couldn't record FX. It did get last night's show, and I enjoyed it a lot.

For some reason, Archer hasn't shown up yet in the FX On Demand section of my cable package. I had hoped it would be there after a week, but not yet. Hopefully soon as I did want to see what I had been reading so much about.

I also loved "The Wings Cried Mary" episode. My favorite line was Pam's to Cheryl "Shut your dick holster."

Finally got to see the season premiere this morning On Demand. Good, but I thought the second episode was funnier.

I forgot to mention that I did laugh out loud at the parody of A History of Violence in the premiere. Since I really love that movie, seeing that cafe scene get the Archer touch was a wonderfully entertaining surprise.

I am a mostly-heterosexual man, but if Timothy Olyphant were to whisper "sex" to me, I would be pantsless in seconds. Timothy Olyphant as Archer's best (only) friend. How did this take four seasons to happen?? God, if only there was a way for him to recur and team up with Barry. But, Justified and all... Also, Archer's ringtone for Lana is an acoustic version of "Danger Zone." Perfection.

The best touch was in seeing how absolutely DELIGHTED Louise looked to see her father brutally murdering people. And just amazing how it managed to be both a Bob's Burgers and A History of Violence recreation within the reality of Archer. A very Community-esque sequence. Unfortunately my lifestyle and occupation don't normally permit it, but I've got to find a way to work "Shut your dick-holster" into more conversations.

Louise is semi demented anyway, and it was a nice touch to have her react like that even without the kids saying anything. The looks alone said enough. Tina was quite shocked. I would love to say, "Shut your dick holster" to a ton of my customers at my job.

I thought the premiere was more clever than laugh-out-loud funny, but the Bob's Burgers/ History of Violence bit was genius. I watched it with my parents, who'd never seen Archer before (I think my dad has seen a few minutes of Bob's Burgers). Much confusion was had. :)

Can that really be called a direct parody of "A History of Violence"? I know the scenes in Archer and AHoV were similar in premise, but I didn't see it as directly referencing AHoV. Not to nitpick but I've seen others make the AHoV observation.

That was absolutely, positively a reference to (not really a parody of) A History of Violence. There are way too many identical details for it to be a coincidence.

Haven't seen AHoV in quite awhile. What were the details?

Well, the movie scene is on Youtube but the Archer scene isn't. :) I remember the coffee smash.

Ok, how they got that many tentacle porn jokes into a half hour was beyond me.   But Pam stuffing an octopus into the toilet while the guys were knocked out had me laughing hard.

I also love that we keep circling back to the big choke marked neck and yet, not a single word was said about it because we just realize it's the character.

Lana at the beginning, also very funny

Tentacle porn FTW. Any episode with Krieger's manga wife is gold. This was actually not that funny of a plot...heck, there was little plot. But, it was filthy dirty! I honestly can't figure who is less twisted.

Yes, the raunch-to-laugh ratio was a little too high for my tastes last night, but there were (as always) solid laughs.

Officially renewed for Season 5.

And, FYI, last weeks episode killed me.   Between the snake bite, and a dictator who renamed everything after his dog, I had a blast.
