The Internet exists solely as a repository for funny cat pictures. Everything else is a bonus. So, why no funny cat thread here?
First, cats that look like pinup girls:

Cat boots:

This is more serious, for cat or general photography lovers:

My two are sorely missed. Planning on getting two new kittens early next year once the holidays settle down!
I can help here if interested. As I recall we don't live that far from each other. My cat Zoe, had 4 kittens on election day. They are cute as the dickens right now and fun as hell to watch play. I will post some pictures in the next couple of days. They are all black with various bits of white here and there. We have dubbed them Fluffy, Fatty, Weasel and Chin.....

I have a friend that teaches music at DePauw. She has three cats. Two will sit there and watch whatever she is playing(has 10 different drums in the house, various "non-guitar" stringed instruments, etc). The third cat needs quarantined, cause she wants the music to stop. Will jump on the drum, bat the keyboard.
On a personal note, we just picked up 5 stray kittens 2 months ago. They will be mousers out in the barn. We think the parents must have been huge. There were 7 in total, another person took two. They were found in a nest in an alley. Presuming something happened to the mother as the person who found them said they didn't look to have been just dumped.
The two males both have issues. One has CH, but he's just plain huge. At 4 months of age, already 6 pounds. The other one has his left front paw undeveloped. The leg is fine, but the paw is 1/4 normal size and has no claws. The bones are there for claws...but doubtful they'll ever come in. The three females are all fine.
The big male also has a "split head". His nose is almost split to a third nostril. Vet says he is a failed twin. The most obvious other quirk is his ears always do the exact same thing. But, so far, he goes out and rough houses with the 4 dogs outside. Has already come up to the porch bearing gifts...
I built a cattery(can't call it a cathouse...ahem) out in the barn, 4x8 6 feet tall(5 feet tall inside) with a cutout in top so they can come and go as they please. Food and litter stays in there. Every morning and afternoon at "more food time" all 5 are always present and accounted for...

Sam, what is "CH", I'm sure once you tell me I'm sure I'll go doh! Will you get all the cats spayed and neutered? It will greatly improve their quality of life. They'll get into less fights, are less likely to catch or transmit diseases, and will probably live longer.

The boys yes. The girls, not yet. We want another round of cats. If we end up with 10 cats, even better. The farmer next to us wants some cats, if our three have any. I expect them to make it through their first cycle before "getting out". Where we are there are no strays. We have 17 acres at the house. The closest neighbors each have 50+ acres.

You don't really have to breed more cats to get more. Many humane organizations have cats that are not well socialized, but would make good barn cats. Anytime you've got an opportunity to reduce the number of unwanted, homeless cats, I say take it. You'd be giving homes to cats that would otherwise not have them and preventing unnecessary births.

If we weren't "so rural"-ish...
And if the local "shelter" (our shelter here is a bunch of morons who don't care, even in the beauracracy) didn't have issues...
We already have(as domesticated...) 8 dogs and, now, the 5 kittens/cats. Our local veterinarians are "required" to keep in touch with the shelter/animal control. The "shelter" won't allow a greater than 2:1 pet to owner ratio.
So, we already have 13:3 ratio. I "can't" go get rescues...
No matter the point being we have 17 acres.

The two closest towns are 4 miles (population 800) and 13 miles (population 500), although Merrillville, IN (US30/I65) is 30 minutes away...
People come down where we are all the time looking for lost pets. I keep a large bin of dogfood out where even strays can get to it. I take 2-3 dogs a year to the vet to check for chips.
My oldest dog(of the outdoor) is a 7yo Bull Terrier/Lab. We don't have a fence on our 17 acres(except for cows, that we share with a neighbor). The dogs can get into where the cows are to keep them safe. Our 4 and the closest neighbors 5 all have free reign. They know our properties and my BT/L keeps the other three in line. The weights of the four keeps the coyote and wolf away(of which we have plenty of both...which is why, around here, dogs are happily left to roam).
BT/L is 85 pounds.
Terrier(of unknown "mutt-ness") is 110.
Golden Retriever is 90.
Samoyed is 65.
We had, for a while, an enormous...and gorgeous, white German Shepherd. Showed up out of the blue with no collar and no chip(we checked). Stayed around for 6 months and disappeared. Never found it dead anywhere either. That dog was easily north of 140 pounds. We assume that the owner showed up. Not exactly like he spooked easily(if he had, being his size, we would have dropped him off at a shelter)...so we are pretty sure he wasn't just taken by somebody wanting a dog.

Well, our four kitty's will be 8 weeks old this coming Tuesday and are pretty close to being ready for new homes. They are hysterically funny right now....and yes I am woefully behind on getting some pictures posted. I will remedy that this weekend.

Here's our cat Buzz. We got him from a local vet. Both he and his brother were dropped off there as small kittens. Because of lack of space time was running out for both of them. We rescued Buzz and someone rescued his brother as well.
I originally brought him home for my son but somehow he has attached himself to me. :)

Keep me posted please, my travel craziness concludes on the 13th so am planning on getting two kits at that time! I'm specifically looking for siblings who are lap cats!
