I'd like to organize a small regional meet in January 2013 here in San Francisco. If you're in zip code is 93500 or higher or if you're going to be in San Francisco on Sunday January 20, 2013, this meet is for you.
What I'm proposing is a early brunch at Il Fornaio at 1265 Battery Street on Sunday the 20th and then a guided walk to some movie location sites focusing on classic film noirs followed by a screening later in the day on either my 60" plasma or on a 92' screen in a home theater.
We'll cover locations for The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill (2005), Dark Passage (1947), The House On Telegraph Hill (1951), Thieves Highway (1949), The Lineup (1958) and It Came From Beneath The Sea (1955). And more!
Just private message me if you're interested. Even if only one person wants to get together, we're on!

Sarah and I met up with Andy and Jane at Il Fornaio for a lovely brunch on a gorgeous Sunday in playoff-consumed SF.

Following a lively conversation and several cups of coffee, we set out. First, the Filbert Steps:

After the ascent is the intersection of 2 famous San Francisco streets:

Near the intersection, Andy pointed out the art-deco apartment building 1360 Montgomery, where Dark Passage was shot. You can even see Bogart in the window!

At the top of the steps is a lovely view:

We then meandered down Montgomery, where the TransAmerica Pyramid formed the centre of this cityscape:

Following a stroll down through Chinatown, we finished our brunch and tour and parted. I must give my thanks to Andy for a fabulous meet! You're a fountain of film knowledge, and though we've been in the Bay Area for 18 months, we haven't really walked the streets as much as we would like. A pity we didn't have more time, but I'm sure there'll be future walking tours. Hopefully Patrick and Rob can join us as well. And please thank Jane for being such wonderful company! Joe and Sarah

It was a pleasure to share a lovely day with Joe and Sarah. There weren't any wild parrots on Telegraph Hill on Sunday but I was able to show them two sites associated with classic San Francisco film noirs, the Malloch Apartment Building from Dark Passage and Julius' Castle from The House on Telegraph Hill. If any HTF members are coming in to San Francisco, contact me and hopefully I can do another walk with them.

Really nice photos. I love anything San Francisco. I was upset I couldn't join because of time off and money concerns. Any more photos?

Sorry you couldn't make it. If you're coming into SF, let me know and we can do this walk and/or others to see the film sites.
