Enjoyed the return. I assume we'll be getting flashbacks to Purgatory and Sam's life with the vet for the next little while.

"Where's the angel?" "Ask your mother." :) Enjoyed the return episode. I wouldn't mind seeing Crowley as the main antagonist for the season as Mark Sheppard is one of the best things to ever happen to the series. I also wouldn't mind seeing a guest spot from Julian Richings (the personification of Death) this season as well; as he is another favorite. - Walter.
Fidelity to the source should always be the goal for Blu-ray releases.

Yep. I like that closing the gates of hell will apparently be the arc for the season. I guess it all depends on if The CW wants to renew the show next year but I think Sam and Dean permanantly stopping evil would be a solid plotline to end the series with.

Even though my local CW broadcasts in 1.33:1 SD I'm going to try to keep up with the season this year.

Best episode of the season for me.  That was a very unique way to play on the "people film with video cameras".. I thought it went in a very different direction, sucking in some of the tropes of Paranormal and TV Documentaries.   Thought it was some good fun.  "I don't really say awesome that much do I?"

Enjoyable but the switching cameras would sometimes alert me to the episode's gimmick more than it ideally should have. Still, very good episode.

Really enjoyed Supernatural tonight.   I had a lot of doubts about how this season started, and I wasn't sure they had a concept.. and I'm still not totally clear on where this ends up, but I think they are now starting to lay some real groundwork for the season and it's at least pretty interesting.  The flashbacks to what happened in Purgatory seem to be filling us in on how this all played out.

I had no idea what they would come up with for this season, but I have to admit it's held my interest strongly. Don't care much about Sam's domestic life, I have to say.

I love the more humorous episodes, and Cass trying to be a hard nosed hunter hit the spot.   I'm also really pleased with the heaven backstory.. I'm not sure where it goes, but Amanda Tapping is a great casting move.

Yes, any Castiel episode is always a treat. His dynamic wih Dean is priceless.

I tend to like episodes with Cass.   This season is a major puzzle, I get the feeling it may all click together near the end, which will significantly improve it in a marathon viewing.   We get bits and pieces of the puzzle every week but I still have no idea where this whole thing shakes out.   I do like Tapping in her role.

Hated to see Dean cut Benny loose though I understood that he had to put Sam's wishes first. Still, he's been my favorite addition to the season.

Laughed a lot tonight.   The moment they turned "The Porn Star?"

I was dying.

Lots of good jokes tonight.  Generally fun script

I agree. A very amiable episode, and I love that the series plops these into the regular mix from time to time. I loved how Dean was into the costume/role playing when one might assume he'd think it ridiculous.

Those kids today, with their texting and murders.

The "tent is a rocking" comment was one I was still snickering about this morning.

Those kids today, with their texting and murders.

That was the line that gave me the biggest laugh.

It's rare that a show at season 8 can put together an arc that redefines the characters and yet, completely works.

Forming this to show that Sam is in line with his grandfather's heritage of "Men of Letters" and Dean is more kin with the hunters is such a fantastic trick, opening up a lot of potential ground for the series.    The scriptwriters here have done something I think is really unique, they've made a late season change to a series that actually keeps it fresh.

Some good action moments and some great comedy asides tonight.   Dean reeling thinking the guy was a gay stalker was hilarious
