A nationaly known retail DVD company has a flyer out listing numerous Archive titles to come out in October and November.
These include:
The three Gable/Harlow titles-Hold Your Man, Red Dust and Secret Six
a Philo Vance collection
a Perry Mason collection
a BOWERY BOYS collection-Volume 1
2 Leslie Caron musicals-Lili and Glass Slipper
2 Susan Hayward titles- Ada and I Thank a Fool
a 3-title Seven Keys to Baldpate
a 9-title Wheeler & Woolsey RKO comedy collection
WOW What Warner Archives does for the classic collector!

Philo Vance, that means some William Powell - maybe we will get a great release of the Kennel Murder Case, The Benson Murder Case & some other Vance Mysteries...a lot of actors played Philo Vance, but Im a William Powell fan :)

Is it against the rules to name WHICH retailer it was?
That does count as an official announcement if the retailer is taking pre-orders
I'd bet some of those will be pressed discs.

They're finally releasing Wheeler and Woolsey's comedies to DVD? Interesting.
They've previously released 7 titles by Wheeler and Woolsey, 4 earlier this year and 3 a couple years ago. I only have two, I have some catching up to do.
I'm really happy the bowery Boys are finally coming hopefully its a 12 movie set so we only need 4 volumes.

Hope the Harlow titles get bundled into some kind of set or they will be too expensive for me. :(

This morning the two Susan Hayward titles are up for order and the two Leslie Caron titles are for pre-order next week. Hoping there are a few more titles for this week and next week and others. Perhaps the Gable/Harlow will be a three disc collection.

I wonder if the Wheeler and Woolsey set is a repackaging of the seven existing titles with two new ones? I have several of the titles already, but I'm really hoping for Hips, Hips, Hooray and The Cuckoos.

Update: Movies Unlimited now has Ronald Reagan's That Hagen Girl w/Shirley Temple and The Voice of the Turtle w/Eleanor Parker up for pre-order for the same day as The Girl From Jones Beach.
Also Philo Vance Collection is now listed for April 2013 and the Wheeler & Woolsey Collection for February 2013.
The Bowery Boys Collection Volume 1 is scheduled for the end of November and 12 titles are listed......so I guess there will be 4 volumes. The titles are from 1946/1949/1950/1951/1952.

THE VOICE OF THE TURTLE is an unsung delight, with one of Reagan's best performances. (Eleanor Parker was always good, and underrated.) For some reason (obscurity I guess) it's never mentioned in the same breath as KING'S ROW or THE HASTY HEART, but it should be.

Eve Arden has a showy role in this one too. When TCM runs it, it's billed as ONE FOR THE BOOK.

They ship worldwide. They actually have a special shipping rate for Canada, which costs more than domestic US but less than international.
For Canada there is a base charge of $6 per order and an additional $2 per item (so one item would cost $8)
They charge you in US dollars and you can only pay by credit card or international money order.
