So, they actually announced the release of this beast. http://store.sony.co...D=A:4176827:CJ I cant imagine what it will cost. Yet...I want one. Stupid, I know, since there is essentially zero content for any 4K TVs. Heck, is there even anything on the radar for 4K discs? Super Blu-Ray? Anyway, I just know that the future looks exciting. It feels like old times as we sat around waiting for official HDTV specs to be ironed out and then waited as the HD-DVD Blu-Ray wars went on. I feel like a kid again!

There was a previous discussion on 4K displays in this forum.  It has a variety of reason why it is highly unlikely that there will be native 4K content.

The CE manufacturers have to continually have something that is "new" to attract people.  They try to follow what auto manufacturers do with new features.  The difference is that auto manufacturers are typically not waiting on someone else to provide the value to the value prop!

I'll invest my money in 3D before I invest in 4K...
