An unexpectedly hilarious and touching comedy from Focus Features starring Steve Carell (“The Office”) and Keira Knightley (Atonement), Seeking a Friend for the End of the World explores the crazy and inspired things people will do when humanity’s last days are at hand. Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is the feature directorial debut of screenwriter Lorene Scafaria (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) and will be available on Blu-ray™Combo Pack with DVD, UltraViolet™, and Digital Copy as well as on DVD, On Demand and Digital Download on October 23, 2012 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

In a too-near future, apartment-building neighbors Dodge and Penny (Steve Carell and Keira Knightley), react in their own unique ways to the announcement that a 70-mile-wide asteroid is en route to Earth. He wants to return to his first love. She wants to get back to her family. As the unlikely companions’ respective journeys converge they meet up with a cast of characters, and their outlooks – if not the world’s – brighten in surprising ways. The talented cast also includes Connie Britton (“Friday Night Lights”), Adam Brody (“The O.C.”), Rob Corddry (“Childrens Hospital”), Gillian Jacobs (“Community”), Derek Luke (Sparkle), Melanie Lynskey (“Two and a Half Men”), Gillian Jacobs (“Community”), T.J. Miller (Get Him to the Greek), Mark Moses (“Desperate Housewives”), Patton Oswalt (Young Adult), and William Petersen (“CSI”), Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is being hailed as “funny and wonderfully poetic…Steve Carell and Keira Knightley are superb.” (Claudia Puig, USA Today).
