Merry Christmas everyone. Suprised a thread like this hasn't been started yet. So...list which discs you got :) And hardware, if you were lucky enough to get some upgrades. My MGM Midnite Movies collection just grew...
Count Yorga Vampire
Dunwich Horror, The
Empire of the Ants
IT! The Terror from Beyond Space
Man From Planet X, The
Mars Needs Women
Monster that Challenged the World, The
Morons from Outerspace
People that Time Forgot, the
Planet of the Vampires
Reptilicus
Strange Invaders
Theater of Blood
Twice Told Tales
War Gods of the Deep
And the 3 that aren't Midnite Movies...
Spaceballs
Toys
Willow
These were from my imediate family. Was suprised how many I got, and I still have my extended family to exchange with. I haven't seen any of the Midnite Movies except Empire of the Ants, which I'll spin first. Followed by Planet of the Vampires, Count Yorga Vampire, War Gods of the Deep and The Dunwich Horror. Gonna have to find some way to work them all in with my TV stuff now. Oh well, I'm not complaining.
Everyone have a very safe and enjoyable day.
Merry Christmas.

Well, I only got 3 DVD's
Pearl Harbor
Jurassic Park 3
Green Day: International Supervideos
MY mom admitted PH was a freebe and could get the money back if I so desired. (She didn't like the movie too much.) :)
On the upside, I got $650 because my family doesn't kno which movies to get me so they got me money instead. I love shopping for DVDs and they know it. :D

So far, Moulin Rouge and Almost Famous. My girlfriend got Dark Crystal and Robotech Series 1. There is still more giftgiving to be done, but it won't happen until the weekend.

However, I also got a Gamecube. Super Money Ball is just too much fun!

In addition to a 2nd DVD player - for the master bedroom - we got and gave each other tons of DVD's this year. Our collection now numbers over 1000 discs (not titles or SKUs). We also each got today a $20 Best Buy gift card to spend. Here is what me, my wife (Stephanie), and my almost-4-year-old son Stpehen got on DVD for Christmas!:
David's List:
  • American Graffiti
  • GodFather Saga*
  • Hero
  • Janet Jackson: Design of a Decade*
  • Last Starfighter
  • Lethal Weapon 1-3 Box Set
  • Moulin Rouge
  • Planet of the Apes: The Complete TV Series*
  • Prince: The Hits Collection
  • Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea/Fantastic Voyage

Stephanie's List:
  • Air Supply: The Definitive DVD
  • Africa: The Serengeti
  • Arachnophobia
  • Art of Illusion: 100 Years of Movie Magic
  • Casablanca
  • Dracula 2000
  • Felix The Cat: The Movie
  • I Want My DVD - Volume 2
  • Journey Live 2001*
  • JRR Tolkien: Master of the Rings
  • Neil Diamond's Greatest Hits
  • Oliver!
  • Prisoner - Set 5*
  • Rush Chronicles: The DVD Collection
  • Servants of Twilight
  • Splash!**
  • Styx: Return to Paradise

Stephen's List:
  • Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad
  • Black Cauldron
  • Clifford: The Big Red Dog
  • Dinosaur: Collector's Edition
  • Land Before Time
  • Pete's Dragon
  • Walt Disney Treasures: Silly Symphonies*
  • Walt Disney Treasures: Micky Mouse In Living Color*
  • Walt Disney Treasures: Davey Crockett*
  • Walt Disney Treasures: DisneyLand U.S.A.*
* = Items I perhaps have mentioned before that were bought, but were put under the tree to wait for Christmas
** = The only item we got 2 copies of this year! I gave it to my wife, and she gave it to me! Oh, well! :D

And, finally, I'll mention that Gord Lacey sent my family the Canadian release of Beast Wars: Transformers - Classic Episodes Vol. 1 as a combo Christmas gift/Thank-You present for helping out a bit on his web site (linked in my sig). I can't really list it under any one family member, since we all like it. Especially my son, who wants to view it 24/7. I guess I'll be ordering Vol. 2 in the series in time for his birthday!
Not a bad haul, eh? Over 50 discs on 37 SKUs. A few of them are MAR, but what can you say when it's a gift?
On the upside, I got $650 because my family doesn't know which movies to get me so they got me money instead. I love shopping for DVDs and they know it.
A significant amount of the above list were items that we got money or gift certificates for gifts, and we bought the items we wanted in advance so they would be under the tree on the big day.
Merry Christmas, everybody! I hope you enjoyed as bountiful and happy a holiday as my family did, and I wish for everybody's safety!

All the Ingmar Bergman DVDs currently available in R1 and R2 (about 7 of them), and also Fanny and Alexander, From the Life of Marionnettes and Wild Strawberries when they come out in the next couple of months. Before anyone asks, I really did want them!

Oh yes, and I've the promise of Mannequin when it comes out in a couple of days (I know on any objective terms, anyone with any pretence of being sentient shouldn't admit this, but it's one of those turkeys which I find endearing, like Plan 9 From Outer Space).
