Hi Guys, There are Two Optical Input and one coaxial Input in this receiver. All the three were functioning properly. Optical ONe - Computer (Creative Souncard) Optical Two - Denon CD PLayer Coaxial - Marantz CD 4000 All the three were working fine suddenly Optical 1 doesn't work. INitially I thought it was a Problem with the cable. But its not.. WHen i put the same cable in the optical 2 it works fine. then i tried to change the assigned inputs. By default Optical One: DVD Optical Two: TV Co-Axial is CD. I tried changing them but in vain.. And one Important thing i NOticed is that whenever there is a input to OPtical TWO the display shows DIGITAL. But there is no sound coming from Optical oNe.. and it shows Analog.. I don't understand how a digital input can show as Analog.. there are few keys to change the input mode in which you have "analog only" i have tried everything but still there is no fix for this issue.. i checked with some mechanics here.. they said the two optical inputs are placed in a single card.. so if one is not working both of them should not work.. i am stuck now.. anybody please help me...

The Denon site's not letting me get to a manual, but I have two theories: 1) You inadvertantly reset you're computer input from optical1 to analog. What I mean is that on most receivers you don't turn the input knob to "optical1", you select CD, DVD, or maybe aux1. Say it's aux1, during setup you set aux1 to use optical1. So I'm guessing you accidentally switch the source from optical to analog. 2) It's broken.

Yes you are right actually you turn the know the digital input is chosed automatically... i haven't changed it.. even if i have changed it.. i have Initialized the microprocessor.. now everything is in the defaults.. Optical One: DVD Optical Two: TV Co-Axial is CD.

If it works when plugged into the CD input, and DVD is configured to opt1, then I'd say it's broken. But I'd rather you *see* that the DVD input is configured to opt1 rather than relying on a reset. Go into the set-up menu, it can't be that tangled to get there.
