SAN JOSE, CALIF. (June 25, 2012) – Written and directed by Michael Baumgarten (Pretty Obsession), the romantic comedy The Guest House debuts on DVD September 4thfrom Wolfe Video, but will be available early across all digital platforms on August 7th. Before leaving for college, a recently dumped blond bad girl’s life changes forever when she falls in love with a smart and professional college grad staying in the family’s guest house. The film stars Ruth Reynolds (Girltrash: All Night Long), Madeline Merritt (American Idiots) and Tom McCafferty (Dark Star Hollow).

It’s the end of the summer and “bad girl” Rachel has stayed out all night with Jason, her rocker boyfriend. When he drops her off at her upscale house, to Rachel’s surprise, Jason casually dumps her. Now feeling upset and depressed, Rachel argues with her father (Frank), who is getting ready to leave for a weekend trip. To show his authority, Frank grounds her until he returns Tuesday. But as a side-note, he asks Rachel to be nice to a new employee he has hired who will be staying in the family guest house.

Hours later, Amy, a beautiful and seemingly-conservative brunette, arrives at Rachel’s front door. As she was told to do, Rachel plays the part of helpful hostess and leads Amy out to the guest house and helps her get settled in.  Soon, Rachel and Amy chat over a bottle of wine and become fast friends.

Over the course of the weekend, Rachel and Amy sightsee around Los Angeles and share stories of their past loves and future dreams. Even though they are very different, they fall boots over heels in love. They’re crazy about each other.

But, what will Rachel’s father think when he finds out?

The Guest House has a runtime of 84 minutes and is not rated.
