Once again the two most important people won't be there.
Consumers
Apple/Disney
Until one or the other are considered in the UV scheme they can have all the meetings and committees they want, it won't matter.

Listening in, sure. Providing comments that they actually listen to? Not so much.

I'm a consumer, I listened in on the Ultraviolet Webinar and I also posted questions which they answered during the webinar. I'm not sure what you are talking about? Did you attend the same webinar that I was attending???

If you heard the webinar, can you please re-cap, I couldn't attend because I am stuck in an Airport.

Thanks, Towergrove. I don't think Sam went, he was just making assumptions, which he does a lot when it comes to UV. All he does it criticize it, in every post. I would say he is a troll.

I've been called worse.
I prefer to think of myself as a consumer advocate tho. I refuse to let companies off te hook for providing subpar services that set consumers back. And I don't give them breaks for what their services might be in the future, bu for what they actually are.
If that makes me a troll I can live with that.
The 'Who should attend' seemed pretty clear that consumers were not welcome.
Did any of the outstanding issues with UV get addressed?
Is Disney on board?
Do you still need 5 logins?
Etc,
I bet on minidisk's future oce, they didn't fix their issues and died a horrible death...
I bet on BD but invested in hddvd despite my objections. Hd bet against Apple and Sony and died a horrible death, but it could have gone either way, but pitting consumers against each other was not a good strategy.
I was a major objector to DIVX, they didn't fix their issues and died a horrible death.
I was a major objector to Sream, they fixed their problems mostly and now I'm a huge fan.
Today I object to Origin and UV. Will they survive? Time will tell, but thy can't survive by ignoring the consumers objections that is for sure.

While participating in the UV discussion I never felt that I or anyone who attended was "Not Invited". You probably would have had to actually attend the event to know what I mean though.

They did indicate the lines of communication are open with Disney and they are in discussions, yes. It would be nice for Disney discs to have digital UV versions of their titles included.

But the same can also be said for Apple Inc. and it's itunes files (which I also enjoy). I just picked up The Artist, Sherlock Holmes and Wrath of the Titans, No Itunes files included, they did have UV though. Looks like Warner, Sony and Paramount are slowly phasing out its longtime practice of including itunes digital copies in favour of the Ultraviolet Digital Downloads and Streams on the in store discs.

Right, what you have been calling choice is actually removing the most popular downloadable format. Makes no sense to me.... As a consumer.
From a business angle it's clear: they are playing their cards like this cause they are scared. Of Apple for sure, of consumers perhaps.

DVD's with iTunes digital copies are the ones with no choice, I am locked to apple devices. I could not watch them on my Sony blu-ray player, my XBOX, or any other device that's not made by Apple. That is severly limiting choice, UV does just the opposite. I can watch on any device I want to, and that's what's important to me, UV will suceed, it already is a success!

Thanks Sarah. But I won't be expecting anything today then, near Philadelphia we're supposed to be over 100 today. Fortunately for me, I work inside w/AC all day so I've not been bother by it too much.
