Uh-oh. Didn't expect a double dip for both The Misfits and Some Like it Hot.
I might have to wait for a price drop on this.

Nice. But am I wrong, or aren't there just a couple more major ones that are conspicuously absent? How great would it have been to have it all in one set.

The titles are also being made available individually, so you won't have to...

Niagra is the most noticeable absentee since it is usually included in these sorts of front-line box set releases.
As far as Cinemascope films, Bus Stop is a fairly major absence as well

Is that right? I've got to work on my attention to detail. I still might unload my singles depending on which route is the most economical. I'll also await news on the packaging. If Fox took a characteristically cheap route on the box set's disc housing, I may end of going for the singles even if they are more expensive in the long run.

Yes, Niagra and Bus Stop are the two most conscipuous omissions. Most folks don't like Let's Make Love much, and I guess there's no need to pretend All About Eve is a Marilyn film or we would have had a THIRD double dip.

Here we go again! First Bond 50 set from Fox and now Forever Marilyn?
I too purchased Some Like It Hot and The Misfits.
Ron - Any word on individual title releases of the other films?

I thought all of them in the boxset would be available as individual releases?

My bad!
Good call that they are being issued separately!

I never bought these in SD so I'm game. Hope there are some nice extras announced though.

I hope Gentlemen Prefer Blondes looks better on blu ray than what was shown on Sunday on HDNET. The picture looked very yellow to my eye and not at all what one would expect of 3 strip technicolor .
On another topic does anyone know why many Fox color films from the 40's and 50's don't use the Fox opening from that period. Instead they use one with an (R) registration in the lower right corner that looks like an the logo from the 60's.
Gentlemen on HDNET did have the proper 1950's Fox opening but many films do not.
Very happy that Fox is releasing these films themselves. As I said in a previous thread it is odd celebrating the 50th anniversary of a suicide.

They will be released individually. MSRP for Blu-ray singles is $24.99 and DVD is $14.98. The box set is $99.99, so depending on individual prices it may be cheaper to just get the set.

Still not available for ordering at Amazon, but Walmart has the collection for $73.86 and the individual releases for $21.23, so using that as a guide, its cheaper to double dip on those titles as part of the set.

Thanks Adam! I wonder what is up with Amazon not listing it yet?
I have yet to watch The Misfits! It's still wrapped actually!

The individual titles are available for preorder too. One of my favorite Monroe films is The River of No Return. Something about Marilyn in those blue jeans.
