WHV Announcement: Christopher Nolan 5 Film Blu-ray Collection (1 Viewer)

Doesn't Lionsgate hold the rights to Memento? How is WB able to include that in the box set? It's strange to me that they appear to have been able to work out a deal to include that, and yet no deal to include The Prestige, which Disney distributes domestically but was actually a WB co-production, with WB distributing internationally, so you'd think they might be able to get that one easier than Memento.
Anyway, the only one of these films I don't already own is Insomnia, so...great idea, Warner, but no sale here.

Well The Prestige is not one of his more successful works so I can imagine they're looking at it from a business stand point.

Also Criterion has Following and was supposed to release it last year but didn't for some reason.

THE DARK KNIGHT
The follow-up to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in his continuing war on crime. I wouldn't assume that, as it doesn't make sense to me. How would it be a negative in a business sense - because people would refuse to buy the package if "Prestige" is in there?

If you mean that the rights would've been so expensive it wouldn't have been worth, I could agree, but if you just think it's not there because it's not as successful as the others, I don't agree.

It wasn't that big a bomb anyway. "Insomnia" made $67 million and "Prestige" took in $53 million. "Memento" made by far the least of the whole bunch but compensated on home video, I suspect.

"Insomnia", "Prestige" and "Memento" are all box office nothings compared to the other three in the box anyway...

It would be worth a double dip for me if Batman Begins was a new high bitrate encode, bit mushy at times due to the extremely low and experimental ( for the time and of course used many times since ) bitrates that Warner used as they tried to see just how low they could go, i'd also love to see a new transfer for The Dark Knight, one which utilizes the 35mm film elements as the version they used seems to be the upscaled IMAX edition ( for the 35mm shot parts ) with some pretty bad edge enhancement in various scenes.

It does sound like this is just a re-hash of the old transfers and so i wouldn't be interested.

I'm sure that these are just the existing Blu-ray discs in a new package, but I, too, would like to see a new Blu-ray version of The Dark Knight that included the 2.39:1 version.
