The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

--I don't know what's up at Amazon...but they started a new thing last week in which many of their new release prices are ending in odd cents combinations.  Instead of a uniform $xx.99 or $xx.49 list of prices we are now seeing prices such as $xx.37.

I'll pick up Being John Malkovich at some point. I don't feel the need to own it but The Grey was a pretty cool movie. Thanks for the prices, Mike! :)

One of the slower weks indeed...outside of a handful of higher-profile releases.

Don't even remember seeing that one while doing this week's research.  Very nice job, Jay!  I always appreciate getting a hand like that!  Posted Image  Posted Image

Something tells me that someday I, too, will end up with the Criterion of Malkovich.  Probably via a B&N sale or an Amazon price drop (just like Peter said above).

$39.99: Star Wars: Prequel Trilogy, Star Wars: Original Trilogy $89.99: Star Wars: The Complete Saga

So you can buy the six films in two boxes for $80 or in one box for $90. Does this make any sense?

Does anyone know if Screen Archives Entertainment (distributor of the Twilight Time titles) ever has sales or coupon codes available?  Posted Image

I want to place an order...but if I'm going to be spending "top dollar" on some titles, I don't want to miss out on an opportunity to save at least a few bucks.

I found a couple of TT threads...but I can't find any mentions of a coupon code.  Argh.

I never saw any $5 code. The only one I ever heard about was using the word AMAZON for $10 off but it I didn't work for me when I made a recent order.

Picked up the Coen Bros. box set on sale at Best Buy for $20. Decent deal for some great flicks: Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, Miller's Crossing and Fargo.

I stopped by to pick that up too, and ended up snagging the 6-disc Alien Anthology on Blu, which was also on sale for $39.99. I haven't been following pricing on that one, but it seemed like a pretty good deal to me, so I took the plunge.

I thought I read it here but it must have been in some other thread.  Or I'm just missing it for some reason...

Best Buy has a rack of Classic TV on sale for $9.99 per season or box, depending on how they're packed.  I just picked up, for a friend who's out of town, the entire four seasons of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea for $80 (these seasons are in two parts each).  MSRP on the two halves of Season 4 by itself is $70, according to the stickers -- not that that's what people normally sell it for, but still...

Due to BB's typically slovenly price labeling on the shelves and displays, I couldn't determine how long this sale runs.  (Some shelf labels said expires June something, others said April and May!)  Just a heads up.
