Before the recent Oscar-nominated film version of John le Carre’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, starring Gary Oldman, there was the 1979 BBC mini-series directed by John Irvin and starring Sir Alec Guinness. Acorn Media has now released this classic piece of British television on a 2-disc Blu-ray set, adding a bonus interview not included on the 3-disc DVD set released last year.

Thanks Todd.  Good points on the video.  While I think we all want things to be fully remastered, sometimes you can't justify the investment based on the expected return.  I didn't purchase the DVD version and the interview sounds pretty interesting.  Do you think its worth the price difference?

I'm not sure it's worth the additional $17 difference (currently) between the DVD and BD versions, but if you can find it at a difference under $10, very much so.
