Inoticed early today, that blu-ray. com has listed under their new upcoming titles and mca combo release of Spartacus due on June 5. I am surprised there is no mention of it here. Any one else have more info?

I saw that, too. I pre-ordered it just in case it's a new transfer. Hopefully, it's not just a repackage that adds a DVD version.

AFAIK, there's nothing new here.  Avoid.   RAH

If this is the same, universally panned transfer, it reveals a level of contempt by MCA for it's customers.
But a family cat is not replaceable like a wornout coat or a set of tires. Each new kitten becomes its own cat, and none is repeated. I am four cats old, measuring out my life in friends that have succeeded but not replaced one another.--Irving Townsend

I still have 'hope' that Universal with Criterion will release a new version 'down the road'. Perhaps wishful thinking but I can't believe that the present Universal Blu is the last word on Spartacus...

I'd think that Spartacus is a better selling title than Out Of Africa so if they've already revisited/corrected that one then a re-release of Spartacus is a question of when and not if.

I just love the title of this thread. It refers to a company that hasn't existed in any form in the last 5 years.

Word back from Uni is that it's just a repackage with Digital Copy.
