I'd go with the Epson 6010 - it's brighter with better contrast and longer lamp life ... but has manual focus and zoom vs the 9000's power lens. Epson also has a 3 year warranty vs Mits' 2 year.

Thanks Phil! Do you feel that the Espon is the best projector I can get for under 5k?

I like the Epson -- but you may want to take a look at the Panasonic 7000 - even better contrast at 300,000:1 - not quite as bright (down about 400 lumens than Epson) but has full power lens and same lamp life. Around $3K street price = about a grand less than the 6010. Epson has THX cert if that matters to you - doesn't to me...

We will have a review of JVC's new DLAX30 up in the next week or so.

In the meantime, you may want to take a look at HTF's review of the Optoma HD33.
