I can still play my favorie PS1 games. Yes they look horribly outdated(SNES, and Genesis have strangely aged better in the graphics department) but the PS1 will always be a favorite sysem of mine. I have many great memories playing these games, some of which I will share with you.
-Resident Evil 2. A good friend of mine was over, we both got the game on launch that very day.
We played it for over 10 hours scarfing pizza, and drinking Pepsi. Fantastic.
-Tomb Raider. What can I say, this is a classic. Exploration has never been done better in any video game.
-King's Field. I bought this game not knowing what to expect. I had the weekend off from work, and played it nearly nonstop for many, many hours. One of my favorite games on any system.
-Lunar Silver Star Story. I'm not much of a true RPG gamer, but when Working Designs released this in such a nice package, I just had to get it. It was well worth the price. Very immersive game with a lovely soundtrack, and engaging story.
-King Of Fighters 95. I always liked fighting games, especially the SNK variety. It was a rainy Saturday, and I just got this game the night before. I spent all day learning all the moves for the characters. I got out of the house just to get a burger combo from my favorite burger place in town Mr. Quick. They 'char Broil' their burgers. Their fries aren't bad either.
-Metal Gear Solid. Wow, this is one great game. The later Metal Gear games never grabbed me like this one did.
-X-Files. Yes this was just a port of the PC game, but this 4 disc set had me hooked. It also helped that I was an X-Files junkie at the time.
-Williams Arcade Classics. This was my first venture into the classic arcade game genre(on a home console arcade perfect that is) way before I had MAME on my computer. Freaking loved this disc. I played Joust, and Roboton all the time. I never beat my high score on Joust I got in 98, but I have tried very hard. 374,900.
-Tekken 3. Always a Tekken fan, and 3 was absolutely perfect.
-NHL Faceoff 98. Hockey has always been my favorite sport of choice in the video game realm, and for some reason this game just kept me coming back.
-Battle Arena Toshinden. My very first game for the PS1. My friend, and I marathoned this game, and battled each other for countless hours. It was great at the time, but truth be told I haven't gone near it since 1996. Can't take away the memories though.
Fun times indeed
